I visited at Halloween this year and really enjoyed the relaxed environment and DJ Lui Lou was great. He was entertaining and played my several requests. The good was good. I had some beef tips and broccoli and it was really tasty. I'd love to go back when they have the fire pit going. Had a great time. Thanks.

I go to Big Creek Tavern about once a year for a sandwich they offer that I absolutely love...sandwich was great as always, but as I left, I quickly was reminded of why I only go once a year--this is a smoking-allowed restaurant.  When I left, I smelled and felt like I had just smoked 168 cigarettes (and I'm not a smoker).  Was gonna give it a 1 (cause who wants to feel like that after they eat), but I really love that sandwich...put me down for take-out next time.

For over a year I have been given this place 2nd chances.  Up until a year ago, this was our favorite place to get a steak.  I don't like to write negative reviews but I have to be honest.
My wife and I just turned back two inedible rib-eye steaks EACH.  We ordered medium but they came out well done.  We agreed to accept the steaks as is but the quality of the meat was so poor that we had to turn them back.  Also, they were heavily salted.
The service is great and we still love the ambiance.  Maybe the other meats are good but the steak is lacking.
What is sad is that we truly loved this place.  I wish they would get it back to how it was.

We used to come here for the awesome food,  even though its really a local bar with smoking allowed. Hate the smoky part, because its BAD. We were told it has sold and I think it has since the food is not the same. Foods ok and there usually no waiting. We dont go as much. Sure miss the fussy chef that used to prepare the killer food they used to have.
