Chili Cheese Fries with Pastrami, wow. I am blown away at the quality and quantity of food I received. This is not your average chili, it is a meat sauce mildly seasoned, the cheese is melted, fries crispy and the pastrami is so much. The picture is after I've already eaten so much. We also got a Bacon Cheese Burger, it held up for the 18 minute drive home. The lettuce still has a crunch, onion evenly placed. Everything was great. Friendly service from Frank and other staff. We'll definitely be back soon.
Super efficient service and really filling breakfast on Pico and Sawtelle. After that you won’t be hungry for a while and it’s right in front of a big blue bus stop.Food: 5/5
Very tasty food. Different type of cuisine. Asada plate is delicious.Food: 5/5
When I'm craving a charbroiled cheeseburger combo Big Tomy's is my westside go to. Their fries are a nice medium cut that is perfect for topping with chili, cheese and onions. They also make decent onion rings. Don't forget to order an orange bang as well. The staff are always friendly and efficient. I'm so glad that the owners decided to rebuild and remodel after they shut down for a few years after a kitchen fire.
I have been a loyal customer since I can remember, around 2000 or so. Same cooks, even when they closed for a year or 2 after a fire. I was soo happy they reopened and that its the same cooks as before! Besides the fast awesome customer service. The food is exquisite!!!! Soooo good. Definitely worth itFood: 5/5
I feel like this place is always open and has everything on the menu. I got the huevos rancheros in the afternoon. Included saucy bell peppers and onions over eggs came over easy which I forgot to tell I don’t like anything runny, lots of beans and sliced potatoes from the pan. We also got a steak sandwich and fries which the fries are sometimes the reason to go there, the seasoning is yummy! Found Orange Bang there too which is something I haven’t had in years as haven’t come across it at most restaurants anymore. Vegetarian options: Breakfast, burrito, sandwich at least, burger too I think and probably more options they can modify if needed. Parking: Small parking lot with spots not very clearly marked but never had a problem finding space here.
After driving past this dive burger shop for the past 20 years, we thought we missed our chance to try it when it burned down a few years ago. However during the pandemic it re-opened and we finally decided to give it a try. It matched our expectations to a tee. Meaning it wasn't great, but it was serviceable. When a place has been opened over 20 years, there’s obviously a lot of history associated with it. They proudly display that history on the wall with pictures and clippings of the history of the area. We ordered a chili cheeseburger with plain fries and a double chili-burger with chili fries. Note: the cheeseburger comes with mustard, tomato, pickles and chopped raw onions. First the good: everything was made to order so it was hot off the grill. They give you just the right amount of chili. Enough to get your hands dirty, but not enough to get all over your clothes. Also, no beans in the chili, just as God intended. The patties are 1/4 pound so there is some heft to them. There is a nice outdoor covered patio to eat in. Also the staff was nice. Someone, possibly the owner, even offered to bus our tray for us. Now the bad: the chili tasted like Hormel. Not much spice at all. They charge $1 to refill your soda. The burger also was just meh. Not bad, but not great either. I can totally see coming here after a night out drinking. Then it would be perfect. But sober, it was just mediocre. Are we glad we tried it? Definitely. Will we be back? Probably not.
Stumbled upon Big Tomy's and had cheeseburger and fries. Super tasty. Lots of thousand island dressing. Fries were good, like they were hollow yet meaty. Staff was friendly, continually cleaning. Ate on the outdoor patio.
Very very good. Here I ate the biggest fries portion ever.Food: 5/5
Great spot to grab some quick grub. Reasonably priced and the food was good. Typical burger stand vibes. My kids shared a breakfast plate which was a large filling portion. I had the pastrami and my husband had a chili burger. We all enjoyed the food and still had some to take home.Food: 5/5
