Portions were good. Me being from Texas, it's not Texas BBQ. No smoke flavoring on the brisket. And ribs were tough but had flavor from a rub. I'd definitely go again, but my expectations will be lower that at first. Great people though. They might be Texans... Super nice and attemtive. Nice place too. Good atmosphere.

I have to say the sauce was amazing. It is worth purchasing extra sauce to have in your refrigerator ready for your next barbecue. We ordered for to take out on my way home from Newbury Park to Camarillo. We found this place through the Axxess book. What a gem we found. They have been located there for several years but I have always driven by and never noticed them. They have a themed ambiance. For example - when you exit the building the tray table is a barbecue. There is great parking and the place is very clean and safe. We ordered a combo meal with sides. The macaroni salad side was really good and the potatoes were delicious. The whole meal really hit the spot. The sauce is to die for. Especially the sweet sauces. That service was friendly and they even said goodbye when I left.

We've eaten here a few times now and have tried many different things on the menu. So far we've enjoyed everything we've tried. The food is good. Service is good and very friendly. You need to try this place.

We ate here and were not happy with the food. My wife let them know and they replaced it for her without any issues. I can't say that their food is bad, I can say that it is of a different taste than what we have. They cook their meat everyday and then re-heat it to medium well - well done. Our family has more of the medium rare taste. I have seen the owner answer almost every review, either good or bad. I think that is stand up. Good luck in the future with your BBQ.

I walked into Billy D'z in Newbury Park to grab some takeout BBQ this afternoon. I have never be there before. Their motto is "Slow cooked Que served Quick to you." I went in during their 3-5pm happy hour. They had several $3, $4, $5 and $6 food items. I had my sights on a little bit bigger plates. The restaurant was empty and I was greeted immediately by a smiling face. I thought it was interesting and unique that a "2 meat plate" had generous portions of meat, a corn nuffin and nothing else. Personally, that works perfectly for my family and I. I ordered 2, 2-meat plates...smoked St. Louis Ribs, Beef Ribs, Tri-tip and Brisket. They each came with my choice of 2 oz container of housemade BBQ sauce. I picked "Sweet" and "Blonde". The Sweet was smoked BBQ sauce with honey. The Blonde sauce was a delicious combination of Horserasish, mayo honey and tomato sauce. It was a perfect compliment to the tender Brisket. The tri-tip and ribs were smoky and cooked perfectly so the meat pulled off easily. A little bit pricey but the food was delicious. They do catering as well.
