Birdies Café is a place for families and neighborhood peeps to come hang out and enjoy some of Chef Chris's brunch specialties. Open 7am to 2pm daily.

Story

Birdies Café is owned and operated by Chef Chris Tate. Chef Chris has been working in Bend, Oregon since 1998, creating delicious food all over Central Oregon. Denise Tate will be overseeing Birdies Café.

Chef Chris is excited to open Birdies Café in Bend Oregon! Chef Chris is happy to be part of the Bend community and is looking forward to providing a place for everyone to come eat and feel like a part of the Birdies family! Hang-out at Birdies with your peeps.

After a 10 year career as a professional ballet dancer, Denise pirouetted to the world of gourmet food. As manager of Pastaworks in Portland OR, Denise was bitten by the bug of fine food and wine, and never looked back. Many Bend residents know her as the “cheese girl” at Newport Avenue Market or as the “wine lady” for Casa Bruno Wines. Denise’s enthusiasm for food and wine are well known in Bend!

Lots of special events are coming, such as a wine dinner series in conjunction with our neighbors at Bend Wine Cellars. Our dining room can also be used for parties and special events in the evening!

Always a friend to animals, Birdies Cafe will be supporting a different animal welfare charity each quarter. Come learn about this quarter’s featured animal group.

Birdies Café Loves and is Committed to Helping Animals!
Everyone who meets Chris and Denise will quickly learn of their other true passion, animal welfare.

They currently have 5 rescue Pugs, and a menagerie including a blind chicken, two very old goats rescued from a dairy farm, a cat found in the middle of the road on Christmas Eve, and a turtle named Seymour.

Chris often holds down the home front when Denise is called away to do animal rescue volunteer work for several local animal welfare groups, as well as being a national responder for the Humane Society of the United States NDART team.
