My sister and I stopped in today for a small lunch after touring St. Louis cemetery No. 1. We loved it! The atmosphere was very relaxing and a bit refined. Our waiter was so polite and professional. We never had to ask for water refills or wait too long. The paintings on the wall really bring some life to the place, and it is just really nicely decorated overall. I ordered the Sangria with the fruit and berries side plate. Both were delicious. My sister ordered the fried oyster salad, which she liked and would order again. The chanterelle mushrooms were a nice touch, and the buttermilk dressing was tasty. Would definitely like to come again for dinner because the menu looks great!
Had a wonderful dining experience tonight. Atmosphere was quiet and intimate. Our server was friendly and spot on. I had their fried oyster salad; oysters were delicious and salad fresh, with chunks of blue cheese! Shared some sides; truffled fries were perfectly seasoned and served on parchment paper in a cone holder. The truffled mac & cheese made with cavatappi noodles was decadent.
Stayed at the Maison Dupuy hotel during my time in New Orleans; this place was very convenient and had great drinks. Not to mention the shrimp and grits were amazing.
If this place's food is like its dancing, get ready for their flavors to spin around each of your taste buds. I'm sad to say that I haven't eaten here. I'd like to, but each person only deserves so much goodness in their life and doing so would send me well over the limit. Maison Dupuy's Bistreaux has live music with dance events multiple nights per week. I'm a regular at the Thursday swing dance nights. Before I started dancing here on Thursdays I was, like you, a content mortal person, pleased with their lot. Since I started dancing at Maison Dupuy things have improved immeasurably. I will attempt to explain. You know that feeling of fear you get when you're almost run over by a car? Or when you feel as if you're about to fall off a height? Those feelings are gone now because each night at 1:18am lightning strikes from the direction Polaris and enters my body through my solar plexus, sustaining my newfound immortality. I was taught how to receive these cosmic electric blessings during one of the free dance classes they offer before the dance events. Remember the first time you fell in love? I feel that every day. No, I don't feel the first time "I" fell in love every day, I feel the first time YOU fell in love every day. Why'd you leave them? You could have made that work. Anyway, I feel the first time everyone else in the world fell in love, every since day, typically between 7pm and 8pm as that's when I'm headed to Maison Dupuy to go dancing on one of the best dance floors in New Orleans. This place also has hotel rooms. Can't help you with that. I'm just here with tidings of dance, love, and immortality. Maybe someone at the front desk can help you with the room.
Amazing food. Had the duck. This place is classier and higher quality than many surrounding restaurants. Worth the price.
The food here is amazing. The service is amazingly awful. I ordered steak that was to be cooked well done. When I received my steak it looked delicious, but when I cut off a piece I noticed it was cooked rare instead of well done. I waited about 20 minutes before my waitress came back to our table and I sent the steak back. While I waited for my steak to returned, I ate my tasteful sides that I really enjoyed. When the waitress gave me my new steak I came to find out that this time they gave me a medium rare steak. I told my waitress, and she acted like it was not a big deal. I was slightly upset and just asked for a check. The restaurant was almost completely empty and it took the waitress about 45 minutes to bring my party and I our checks. When I got my check it was shocked to find out after complaining several times they charged me full price for my meal. A meal that I did not completely eat, because of THEIR mistakes. Overall this restaurant has HORRIABLE service.
Just stopped here for the second time on our vacation. First time was just a quick drink. Service was great, drinks were great. Today we has breakfast. I had the breakfast sandwich and my wife had the stuffed French toast. Both were totally awesome and we didn't experience any of the delays noted in other reviews. This was honestly the best breakfast we've had our whole trip, and probably the best French toast we've ever eaten. Would totally recommend this place!
Sat down with 15 minutes left of brunch but wanted regular menu. Instead of offering to takes drinks and let us wait... She told us to come back. Still waiting on food going on 45 min for table of 3 and an empty restaurant. Server couldn't be bothered to bring us menus. Gave food and drink order to her at same time. She did not check on table after taking order. Politely asked bar for refills and he said he would get our waitress. We watched him tell her we needed drinks. 5 minutes later she came by our table and retook our drink order. Manager delivered food to table after an hour with no comment of wait. Waitress did not come back to table. Food was okay. Would not recommend based on service or attitude of staff.
This was the slowest restaurant we've ever experienced. We had a party of 10 and it took us two hours to receive our food, the food was decent and the environment is wanting. Never come here with three people, only couples welcome and it's half full at best. We had to flag down a server to get water and drinks, even though we were his only table. If you want to split checks it will take 20 minutes at best
Terrible service and not great food. Since we were staying at the hotel we decided to try the Bistreaux for breakfast. Hostess never greeted us, just asked how many in party. Asked for lemons for water. After 10 mins went to bar and got them myself the restaurant was maybe half full. The hash browns were barely warm and out of a bag. Ordered eggs ‘over medium’, they were hard fried. Waitress never came back to check on us or refill water. Would stay at the hotel again for sure; restaurant not worth a second try.
