Great service, even the guests are super friendly. Nice family owned business great for cabins or tents. You can catch fish in the stream running against the premises. Nice showers and bathrooms, has a laundry room and rec room. Great selection in the store with low prices for hikers looking to restock.

A great place to stay whether you are looking for a rustic cabin or just a place to throw up your tent. Lots of great cabin options, reasonable pricing, and a clean, friendly environment make for a great stay! The owners have taken great time and effort into creating an enjoyable and fun atmosphere. The cabins are clean, warm, and inviting and they have lots of options for a group of 2 to 52! Prices are very reasonable and the staff is always friendly and happy to help with anything that may come up. Laundry Facilities available, children's play area, small General Store, and a beautiful creek running in the front of the property. If you are hiking the Appalachian Trail-make sure you stop off and check out their store for resupply and snacks, their Bunkhouse for a good night's rest, and their bathhouse for hot showers.

My wife and I had an excellent experience at the Black Bear Resort. The resort is nestled in beautiful Dennis cove which offers convenient access to the Appalachian Trail, trout fishing streams, and watauga lake. The cozy rustic cabin and bathhouse were exceptionally clean, and the on site store had everything I needed to keep from needing to go to town. Stephanie and her husband Brian live on the property and were more than accommodating. Whether you are passing through on the trail or looking for a weekend getaway, a stay at Black Bear Reaort is a must. Thanks again for the relaxing weekend!
