A really neat store for gaming, books and music. I mostly swing by for the gaming stuff which is a mountain of stuff but like with a lot of used (with new stuff too) places there are some gaps. For the most part the prices are reasonable though for regular used stuff they are slightly on the higher end of the spectrum but I'll also say no shipping or eBay drama either. If you want the rare or collectible stuff you will pay a premium price so do not expect to find any hidden gems. The staff who wrangles games knows their stuff. The books side of the store has a lot of shelf space and a variety of books across many genres and non-fiction. Like any used book store there will be a lot of variance but that is party of the charm. Standard used book sort of pricing. The music side is probably the least impressive but they have a lot of used stuff in CD and records which is cool. For the most part I found prices to be good. The staff is mostly hands off, which is fine by me. They have been very helpful when I asked for some information or to break out the boxes of dice. Overall if you are in the area (I am not, sadly or I'd be there every week) then this is a great place to check out.

My favorite used bookstore & gaming shop! Staff is good & willing to chat. I have had more problems with fellow customers. Have found games I couldn't find other places. It's a fun place.

Was looking for some Christmas gifts and was only able to find one because i was rushed out. The staff was rude and more interested in their personal conversation than helping me find a few items. One of the two was working on something, and the other guy was just standing around. The cherry on top was the guy who rang me up rushing back to whatever he was working on and cutting me off as i was walking out, and not saying goodbye or farewell. Black and Read seems to be heading downhill and i hope management can whip those two into shape. Regardless i won't be back.

Awesome store! You can always find something good there. I mainly just go for records and have not had an issue with any transaction or with any product if purchased.
