It is rare I write a negative review. I am sure Dr Black is a good Dr. in many ways. But not for Sr.'s. My husband started to go to him for toenail trimming paid for by Medicare. He has gone to him for a couple years. During that time his toenail fungus got worse and worse and he developed athletes foot. This led to severe splitting and bleeding. Dr Black offered no help even when my husband asked him about it. Once I realized what was going on, we started soaking his feet and treating the athletes foot and started treating the toenail fungus. We cleared up the athletes foot, got the skin in better condition and stopped the splitting. We also went to a Dermatologist and he helped us start to clear up the toenail fungus. During two visits to Dr Black we asked about the toenail fungus and he offered no help. At the LAST visit, he told my husband to cut back on the treatment. That at "his age" it would never go away and he could just manage it. Dr. Black showed no concern for my husbands feet. We had to go elsewhere for help. And even when we had made great progress on our own, he encouraged my husband to accept the problem. These two problems eventually cause great damage and pain to your feet. And the splitting could easily lead to infections. In spite of Dr Black, we nearly have the toenail fungus beat. Some things do come with age. But we have learned the hard way, a Dr that makes those decisions without discussing it with you and giving you all the facts and options, is not a Dr you should go to. I am sure Dr Black must be good at many things. But I would certainly strongly advise anyone over 50 to go elsewhere.

My brother went in for a checkup, I was a little annoyed at first because I though it was going to be a situation where my brother would go in, get told to go to another doctor and then get charged a lot. The doctor put medicine on it and a bandage. When he finished up, he said, "I'm not going to charge you for this visit." I was honestly shocked. I really appreciated it as well. Really good guy.

Dr. Black takes the time to listen to his patients. That is getting to be a rare thing in our fast paced world today. He took excellent care of both me and my wife and I highly recommend him.
