I personally dislike this school. I remember attending during my freshman year, the same year I was able to walk right out of my English class and the teacher said nothing. I was constantly late and sometimes I'd skip classes. The teachers didn't care at all and neither did the counselors. I never even met the principal 😂. I was really disappointed in this school and myself. The only good thing they did was send me to Independence Alternative High School. At Independence, the teachers cared a lot especially the counselor. They all took time out of their day to get you back on track. I was so happy with this school that I even stayed to graduate. But at Blackfoot high, they decided that their football players can smoke pot and STILL manage to stay in school, meanwhile- any other student was forcibly expelled for doing the same thing. I appreciate them sending me to IAHS.

I had an awful experience. The school itself is falling behind academically. Almost none of the classrooms had air conditioning (in the science room they had to keep the lights off so the room wouldn't get any hotter than it already would). The textbooks were 10+ years old, had slurs written in them, and are absolutely falling apart. In the honors classes I took, the students were learning "new information" that I was taught many, many years ago. Example: none of the students in algebra 2 new how to turn a fraction into a decimal and vice versa. None of the kids in Honors biology knew how to work a microscope, either. The administration was very rude to us when ever we would call them for information(once they put me on hold for more than 10 minutes and hung up). The main counselor in charge of IDLA and courses was the worst, though- she did not give us our Infinite Campus account for almost a month, even though we asked her many times for it. When we called to take a final on IDLA, she was extremely rude with me on the phone, and when I went there, and there was an issue with the final, she gave us a phone number to call, and then went back into her office. Absolutely no effort on her part was taken, and my family and I had to wait more than an hour to take my final because she could not do her job. Then, when we asked for the locker number and combination, she grumpily wrote it down on a piece of paper. When we asked her for directions to the locker, us not knowing how to navigate the school at all, she grunted and told us to "find it ourselves". The principal was completely incompetent, as well. He was useless in every situation we asked him for advice or help on. Now, on to the teachers- some of them were nice, but overall, religion is the deciding factor in how each teacher shall treat the students. Some students refer to the drama teacher as "sister" because she goes to the same church as them. The media and video production teacher singled me out in many cases, as well. She would constantly call on me to have me stand up and explain what I wrote down. Afterwards, she would nitpick and point out certain parts of my ideas. When discussing consequences for actions, I was obviously the one called on the most. When giving out candy or discussing things other than repercussions for not following the rules or messing up with the rest of the class, she would ignore my presence completely. In all basics, she was behaving as a bully. The students are very rude and unkind, they do not socialize or even talk to anybody outside of their given group. They all stand in the hallways during class, making it absolutely impossible for me to go to my locker to get my textbooks and then go to a classroom not too far away without being tardy. Along with that, with the dress code it is considered "not modest" for you to have more than one piercing, show more than anything 3 inches above your knee, etc. However, many a time I saw boys wearing shirts with nude females on them, and never once did they get caught for it. Overall, this school is sexist, ableist(discriminatory against people with disabilities), ruled by religion, closed-off, behind the times in every way imaginable, and I can say without a doubt that this the worst educational experience I have ever had.
