I got a bibimbap bowl, and a passion fruit boba tea, the service was amazing. Was a little disappointed with the beef slices, they were overcooked, but the kimchi hot sauce took care of that issue, which I asked for extra because it's delicious. The rest of it was absolutely delicious. Incredible slushy boba tea. Very courteous staff. Reasonably priced. Will dine again.
My experience trying Blossom Root Asian Cuisine for the first time was unimaginable. The bubble tea was amazing, and you could really taste the home made in the drinks. The owner was a pleasure to work with and this place is by far the cafe for bubble tea in Rockland County.
I wish all of their flavor options were documented on their menu board, otherwise I was very pleased with my Peach Black bubble tea the cup has definitely been reused- LOL.
Got bubble tea from here because there’s no other places nearby. It was good but they pre-make a lot of the drinks and couldn’t customize the sugar no sugar. Pricing also on the higher end.
Three of us were looking forward to dining here, but did not enter after seeing that there was only one table inside which was taken. It all looked enticing and we were told by someone waiting outside that it was predominantly take out, and the food was very good. We were so disappointed!
The food is always delicious. Fresh ingredients. Boba Tea selection is great!
Ordered takeout from Blossom Root for the first time today and I was so pleasantly surprised! We ordered the spring rolls, beef and broccoli vegetable lo mein and egg drop soup. Everything was delicious! The veggies in the lo mein were super fresh and not over cooked at all. You can tell the dishes were made with pride in the product they’re selling. We will definitely be returning to this awesome local joint!
Outstanding food and prompt delivery time. Ingredients were very fresh and flavorful with bright creative twists on old favorites like shrimp and broccoli that really made the flavors pop. The use of ginger in the dumplings and sauces added a nice zest without being overpowering. 10/10 will order again!
I'm a very picky vegetarian. I won't have sauces because they are usually made with chicken / meat stocks. When I saw how vegetarian friendly this restaurant was while looking for a take out place for my parents, i jumped at the opportunity to try a few items. The food tasted super fresh. I ordered a seitan dish, which is hard to find in this area, and wasn't just delighted by the flavor, but that they took the time to garnish each piece with goji berries. Usually takeout is just dumped into a container. My parents loved their wonton soup my mom is already strategically planning on when that will be, the dumplings, and the dish they ordered. The sesame noodle dish we got was a little dry, but still very tasty. Everyone loved everything. I cannot wait to try more things from their menu, including their teas and bowls. The menu looks diverse and and very interesting. So happy I found this place! My two complaints: no delivery, and no lunch special for vegetarians which they might accommodate upon request. Still giving this place 5 stars. They deserve it.
Blossom Root is a quaint, family-owned business standing where New City Chinese Food used to operate for many years. The proposal seems good enough: a nouveau restaurant serving Asian-fusion cuisine, bubble tea w/boba offerings, wrapped with keen decor and ear-catching energetic music in the dining room. The menu covers the whole swath of regional cuisines too. I saw Malaysian Curry, Ma Po Tofu, Pho, and Shrimp Tempura. This was something New City Chinese did not do. Perhaps that was NCC's failing that led to its demise. Nonetheless, Blossom Root's menu and overall ambience portended to good things given the rather spartan look of New City Chinese, so my family and I took a chance. We ordered numerous items of varying regional cuisines, approximating a bill of around $100. It was not worth it. Here was our order: 1 Malaysian Curry, 2 Ramen with Shrimp, 3 Kimchi fried rice, 4 dumplings, 5 egg drop soup, 6 tofu with vegetables, 7 almond milk tea with boba, 8 scallion pancakes. 45 minutes to prepare. We picked it up and took it home, and started our meal. The person who had the Curry stated that is was, "Fine". The Ramen? -- "OK". The kimchi rice was terribly crunchy, indicative not of overfrying, but rather of being undercooked. Both it, the pancakes, and the tofu dish were wholly underseasoned. The tofu, cloyingly sweet. They missed the tang of ginger, garlic, and spices. This is even more unforgivable given that kimchi is notoriously spicy. The best items of our purchase were the less expensive ones. From best to worst of the best: the tea, the dumplings, and the soup. New City Chinese Blossom Root's predecessor may have been horribly decorated, but its food was commonplace, reliable, and decently seasoned, at least until the end. I noticed their quality dropped off as they were packing their proverbial suitcases. Yet, I could go there and get an average to above average chicken with broccoli without fail. Blossom Root, in its pursuit to be everything fusion, seems to have problems realizing the flavors and presentation of the iconic dishes offered by the Asian regions that they represent. Going there by my family the other day was a mistake; I hope the business can realize their errors, and do it sooner rather than later. If you want Boba tea in New City, drop by Blossom Root. If you want Chinese Food, try China Garden in Congers or Ocean Empire in Pomona. They focus on Chinese food, and the outcome, in terms of food quality, shows.
