Story

Vast menu, offering the best in traditional American fare, Italian, and Mediterranean dishes. Also well known for our Broiled Seafood selections, Hand-Breaded Fish w/ Macaroni and Cheese, Hand Breaded Fried Clam Strips, and signature Greek Dishes. A variety of specials are also made by our Chef daily. All soups, sauces, gravies, are made on premises daily. Full bakery also on premises featuring cakes, pies, flavored cheesecakes and other pastries. Winner of several first place awards for our Cheesecake, hence the name "Blue Ribbon"! Newly renovated state of the art kitchen. Recently remodeled exterior, including spacious lobby with automatic doorways for easy handicap accessibility. Ample parking. Four entryways provide easy access to premises. Total restaurant capacity 220. We can accomodate large parties. Reserveration not required but recommended for parties of 6 or more. Blue Ribbon Restaurant is the "BEST" Restaurant/Diner in Schenectady, NY. Their Breakfast is on point...nothing to complain about. Their lunch and dinner menus are good, nice variety of menu items to choose from.
In my opinion people go to Blue Ribbon for one reason, the Amazing Desserts. Their Plain Cheesecake and Pumpkin Cheesecake is worth killing someone for a slice. Forget the regular food and just order from their dessert menu and your leave the place happy.

This is a nice, down-home place for breakfast.  I was with a group of people that had grown up in the area and expressed their love of Blue Ribbon's big meals and local fare.  Yes, the plates were big, but I found the food a tad bland.  I had scrambled eggs and hash, both had little character.  I mean, it was decent, just no flare.  Coffee was good though and the waitress was a delight.  Always there with a drink refresh and checking in with a smile and a joke.  I appreciated her service most of all :)

Food was decent. I wasn't blown away, but it was a solid meal. Wish I had time for dessert because those looked AMAZING!

Blue Ribbon Diner is a Schenectady stand-out! It has a wonderful​ selection of dishes from breakfast to dinner and don't forget the desserts! My favorite comfort dish is chicken and biscuits; my husband really likes breakfast at any hour. The servers are very friendly and helpful, and even when we've gone with large family parties, the food is always hot and fairly quick.  They offer cookies and other baked goods for sale, but seriously, try the pies and cakes. Quite yummy!

We brought our 2 year old grandson to breakfast. He was so excited to see the cases of dessert. The staff treated welcomed him. We had yummy breakfast and brought home some world famous cheesecake. Good food nice people but not a cheap date
