Great find, hands down the best BBQ in Montana thus far. From the Super friendly and knowledgeable staff to the clean dining room, this place is all around a great find. Don't let the fact that they are located inside a gas station fool you. They have their own dining area that is as clean and stocked as any stand alone establishment I've ever been to. The tri-tip was cooked just right with a really good smoke ring and delicious bark. The shredded pork is fantastic, juicy tender and really tasty. Going for the shredded pork sandwich on my next visit. The Baked beans were good along with the coleslaw. If you are looking for a great BBQ that reminds me of the quality of meat back in South Florida give these guys a shot I promise you will not be disappointed. No less than 10 local hard working gentlemen purchased food to go while I ate and I bet they don't settle for mediocre direct BBQ for lunch. Overall a great experience.
This was my first time trying this place. It was Wednesday at 1130 am and it was packed! That shows how good it is. I had the ribs plate with two sides. The ribs were phenomenal! My sides were ranch pasta salad, and beans. I really enjoyed the beans, but not the pasta salad. It had a bit too much sauce, that tasted more like mayonnaise than ranch. My husband had the special, pulled pork sandwich and potato salad, and coleslaw. The sandwich he liked but said it needed the extra bbq sauce on it. The potato salad wasn't our favorite. The coleslaw was good, nice and crisp with large chunks of cabbage and not overly dressed. Over all, I was highly impressed, they really know how to barbecue some meat! I just wish I had come sooner.
This is the farthest I've ever driven off I-90 in 23 yrs of driving past Billings from CO to Western MT to my brother's and it was SOOOO worth it. The food was fresh, flavourful and great. The team was the shining star here. A young team that a number of teams I work with could learn from. They led with kindness at every turn. I was so hungry I forgot to take pics of the food. The sauces for me didn't keep pace with the meats which dropped ya to 4. The atmosphere is a 4 only because it's a part of a gas station complex. And don't be deterred. Worth it.
Rib meat so tough, it was difficult to remove from the bone & the flavor was lacking, considerably. The brisket tasted like it was boiled. The side dishes weren’t eaten because of how processed they tasted. Save yourself the money and eat somewhere else.
First of all, thumbs up on the food. I’ve had BBQ in all 50 states, and eaten at all the best places. I also consider myself to be a pitmaster and would put my ribs and brisket up against any… but I’m here to talk about Blues. The brisket was a tad dry but smoky and tender. The ribs were close to perfect — which to me means the meat maintains its integrity and doesn’t fall off the bone. The beans, with a squirt of hot BBQ sauce were very good and I liked the coleslaw. The hot BBQ sauce was Memphis-style —it wasn’t hot but had a good sweetness. The mild was kind of flavorless. All of that said, I gave it three stars because the place is a dump — as bad as I’ve ever seen. The dining room is more like the messiest store room, than it is a place to eat. I can’t imagine caring so little about your customers that you’d have them sit there. See the photos. I’ll eat here again, but am likely to use the drive through.
I already knew Montana was king, for years Ive said the best bbq Ive had in my life was in Great Falls. I was skeptikal when i arrived, its connected to a gas station after all. I ordered the small rib plate and the brisket and smoked turkey combo. I actually ate in order of greatness coincidentally...the slaw, nothing special, the potato salad, yumm love eggy potatoy joy. Then the beans extra good big hunks of pork sweet and thick. Then the brisket, never had brisket like this not overdone with some pink so thick and juicy. The turkey, perfectly smoked juicy and a joy to eat. Then the ribs.... My oh my never ever have i had ribs like this. At first glance they seem charred snd look dry. Then you bite in and its so tender moist and just the right spice rub on it. You know its real goodness when they serve all their meats unsauced, thats confidence in your perfectly cooked offerings. I would have paid 100 for this it was that good. I feel deeply saddened that i live 1000 miles away.
Great place to grab some good BBQ. Experience is generally pretty good, but like all BBQ places the meats can be a little dry. Ribs have great flavor. Brisket is a hit, but can be dry. Tri tip is delicious with a great smoke ring. Seating can be limited and atmosphere is about as exciting as a school cafeteria. Good service even when they are busy.
We had Blues cater for our wedding and we are so thankful we did! The food was as amazing as it always is but it was also affordable and a stress free process! The owners are some of the best people you'll ever meet and genuinely care about your big day!Food: 5/5
Delicious. Reasonable price. Great service. The ribs is heavenly! Highly recommended!
