Every employee here, from the cashier to the techs to the doctors was so incredibly kind and gentle when I brought in my dying dog. It was his time, he had 17 wonderful years, but when his health took a sharp sudden decline I couldn't get an appointment at another vet soon enough. So I came to BluePearl for the first time, and I have no regrets. They were so kind and did everything in their power to ease his passing and make both him and myself as comfortable as possible. I truly cannot thank them enough.

I found a stray cat in obvious need of veterinary care and called BluePearl as they were the only clinic open at the time. They advised me to come in immediately and I agreed, therefore they knew I was coming (I.e. I made an appointment). After waiting for three total hours in the middle of the night with no one else in the waiting room, I was told that the only way to tell if something was truly wrong with the cat involved conducting an exam. Also, they told me that my paying for the exam was the only option if the clinic was to consider taking the cat into their care and finding it a home or shelter. Finally, I agreed to pay $105 for a supposed “extensive exam” for which the vet was in the room for the entirety of about 2 minutes. This “exam” involved feeling the cat’s abdomen, holding a stethoscope up to its lungs, and touching it’s face. Despite my well-voiced concerns about a possible abscess in the mouth and the cat’s clear difficulty breathing, the vet did not even look into the cat’s mouth nor conduct any kind of testing. After the 2 minute “exam,” I was told that the cat seemed fine (go figure!) and that I would need to find it a shelter. I understand that they cannot take in every stray animal, however, I left with the cat feeling more hopeless than I did coming in, and felt that I was out $105 for nothing. The only good that came out of this visit was the handwritten list of no-kill shelter names and numbers to call after the visit, given to me by the vet tech. Three stars are for the kindness and sincerity of the vet tech as well as for being the only vet clinic in the area open 24/7. While I was not super satisfied with my visit, I was at least able to bring the cat somewhere for emergency care.

I would not recommend taking any pet here. They take advantage of patrons in distress. We were out of town and had a sitter watching our dogs. One of dogs got into some chocolate at a very late hour. The sitter took the dog to BluePearl. The first estimate was for $3000 to keep and monitor for two days. This was for the dog eating some chocolate. The second estimate came in at $1400 for an overnight stay and monitoring. The sitter chose that option. This cost is so far out of line. They even administered an IV. The dog was not in distress at this point. The consumption had just occurred. Dogs eat chocolate all the time. This services was totally excessive and they preyed on the sitter's stress and inexperience. They should be ashamed of themselves. When I called them the next day they admitted that they should of called me (the owner), but since she was over 18 years old and signed estimate they obviously did not press this. As far as I'm concerned they have no compassion for the owners. This was not an emergency and they knew it, but took advantage anyway. Find another spot to take your animals.

Our dog recently had an issue that could have turned out to be cancer and we were referred to BluePearl. The entire staff was very helpful and thorough in their explanations. They gave us options for testing based on their theories of what the issue could be and were completely transparent in pricing and possible paths we could take for treatment. Fortunately ,the test confirmed she is cancer free and will only require antibiotics to treat an infection but no matter the results I always felt confident in their staff's capabilities and comforted by their kindness. For a business that often deals with difficult decisions, I know you will be in great care with BluePearl.

Two hours of sitting, 15 minutes of consultation. I feel that if I’m here for two hours to be told it’s allergies I can say I’m just going to wait to take my dog to the vets. This is ridiculous. I don’t like to post bad but step it up please! Other than that I appreciate what you guys did to help me out. I’ll be back again if I can afford to next time.
