Bnai Sephardim is Broward County's first and largest Sephardic synagogue.
B'nai Sephardim was founded in 1970, inside a bank located in North Miami Beach. After merging with another Sephardic congregation, the synagogue moved to a larger facility due to its growing congregation and found a new home in an old fire station.
As the congregation continued to grow, the synagogue purchased a 2-1/2 acre property and moved into the house that was located there. By 1997, the congregation had again outgrown the house and decided to break ground on a new sanctuary, which was inaugurated on May 16, 1999.
Since then, B'nai Sephardim has become the premier Sephardic congregation in Broward County, serving over 700 families during the High Holidays.
We have an active Sisterhood, Men's Club, study groups, as well as social, educational, youth and single's activities throughout the year.
We provide hot sit down lunches and a youth program every Shabbat, within a warm inviting environment.
We welcome you to be our guest and experience a Shabbat with us.
Bnai Sephardim Synagogue exists for the purposes of providing community, preserving and developing Jewish traditions, preserving and developing the next generation of Jews, and providing and developing connections with God. In order to fulfill these purposes, the synagogue must function as: 1) a community center; 2) an educational center; 3) a human services center; 4) a community services center; and 5) a place of worship.
