One of the last truly General Stores around. One of those iconic places, rich with local history - dating back to 1893 when it was a stagecoach stop and a jail. I'm always happy to stop for a fill-up of gas, a six-pack of beer or a Frito Pie. Over the years, it seems like Bode's is stocked with less of a working person's hardware and hunter / fisherman equipment and has more kitschy tourist merchandise. If you're looking for that sort of thing, Bode's has got you covered. But you can still get a good cast-iron frying pan and a Yeti cooler. The Green Chile Cheeseburgers are pretty good. Everyone that works there has always been real friendly to me over the years. I just wish someone would write a local history of the place. If those walls could speak...

El Bodes! An important stop if you are travelling through Abiquiu. Long history in the community. Healthy food options

I would give Bode's the 5 stars for loving it, except, EVERYTHING is over priced, EVERYTHING. That being said, gift area is wonderful, selection of just about anything one could need/want can also be found in Bode's. Definitely worth stopping!

This place is a gem on the road to Santa Fe. We stopped for gas, and walked in and we found beautiful locally made rugs, blanket and cushions. Clothes, art, and fishing gear is also there. BUT if you see it and want it, get it! It may not be there the next time you go as we found out.

Great stop for a delicious cup of Jo. Free WiFi. Fantastic selection of local arts and camping gear. Pet foods available. Also surprising selection of local beer and wine to choose from.
