Stopped by Bodega on Smith St. In Providence. Had the itilian grinder, the grinder was good, but there was some room for improvement. I noticed a Boarshead sign that may have something to do with it No hot cap, no hot pepers, and chopped lettuce. Also, the bread could have been fresher as well. The young lady behind the counter was very pleasant and helpful. There was plenty of street parking, and they have a small lot in the back. This place has a good vibe to it. You can sit and watch the people and the cars go by. There is also an outside dining area you can enjoy at the rear of the building. Bodega is worthy of a visit. I witnessed a meatball sub being crafted during my visit. It looked delicious. That will be next up. I will return in a week or two. Till next time.
Went here for the first time on a whim and we were not disappointed. The service was great Regina was very friendly and helpful with the menu. Food was great and fresh. I had roast beef and cheese and they gave good portions in their sandwiches from veggie to meat. My fiancé got the prosciutto and cheese and seemed to really enjoy. Overall great experience and we will definitely be back!
GREAT! I love when a place is comfortable. Several nice couches inside. Highly recommend. The bar area is perfect for dates; nice and romantic; good place to have a conversation. They even have Spaghetti dinner on Wednesday nights where they turn off the regular lights and make it romantic lighting in there. I already can’t wait to go back. They have a ton of vegan items and gluten free too! As for the bodega side of it; they have all the little essentials that you need from like a corner store. Cleaning products, beverages, mouthwash and fun snacks like chicharron. My favorite part is the couches though. I love comfortable seating Definitely will be back, what a great spot
We had an amazing time at Bodega on Smith! The food was delicious with lots of gluten and vegan-free options. At night, you can sip on great cocktails—shhh, it's a secret! The staff was fantastic, creating the perfect vibe. You can really tell the owners care about the quality and presentation of everything they serve. We can’t wait to return!
The Bodega has something for vegans and non vegans aka meat eaters to enjoy. I tried a vegan Cubano sandwich the first time we visited the place, and a Reuben vegan this time...loved them! The coffee is very good as well. They also have the "normal" version of those sandwiches. The Bodega is not a fully vegan restaurant, in fact it is a mix of convenience store with tables and a great atmosphere and friendly staff; this is a great place to come with your non-vegan relatives/friends we all know someone like that, oh well for breakfast or lunch. Pros: Many vegan options, friendly staff, delicious vegan sandwiches. Great coffee. Cons: Closes at 6 pm
Came here for RI Food Fights and I chose their Cubano sandwich. It didn’t live up to my expectations as I was surprised it lacked flavor. They had a twist to a normal Cubano by having the main meat pulled pork, but it didn’t work. The pork has zero flavor and was dry. It wasn’t like a classic BBQ joint’s pulled pork. The ham was good but there was barely any - wish there was more of it. It needed more mustard as well. The ingredients were fresh and mostly homemade. The bread was pretty good also.
Came here on a Saturday night and was astounded by two things. One, why have I not heard about this place before and two, why is it not jam packed? Michael, the mixologist formerly of The Dean Bar, is putting together an amazing cocktail program. I had a Jerk washed Negroni that was amazing, an After Hours think a spicy Mezcal margarita, and a caipirinha using Cape Verdean Aguardente. Every cocktail was sophisticated, nuanced, well-balanced and absolutely delicious. The kitchen also delivers solid satisfying small bites. The atmosphere is laid back, fun, and sexy. The music playing enhanced the “grown and sexy”, upscale vibe, but I definitely can see this place getting amped up as the night progresses. If you are a true cocktail aficionado and are looking for a spot with personality that delivers on all fronts, you need to add the Bodega on Smith to your “must visit” list.
Spaghetti Wednesday was amazing. The staff was super friendly and nice. The vegan chicken parm, vegan spaghetti and meatballs was delicious. They have nice size portions. Loved the garlic bread. And the tiramisu was out of the world. Definitely will be back.
Definitely one of the top spots in providence for vegan food!!! They offer tons of options whether you eat meat or don’t, and everything is so delicious. So excited they’re open! Highly recommend!
Great Spot! I get lunch here a few times a week and its delicious every time. Felicia is the best !!Food: 5/5
