You have to pay tithing, 10% of your income for life, to watch the movie here and learn the Masonic handshakes to get into heaven. You also have to wear a green apron, even though I was taught my whole life you only wear white in the temple. Their marriage ceremony doesn't use the word "love" once. If you look online, you can find the endowment ceremony script as well as recordings (YouTube channel NewNameNoah) from actual temple ceremonies. Part of the script says: "You and each of you covenant and promise before God, angels, and these witnesses at this altar, that you do accept the law of consecration as contained in this, the book of Doctrine and Covenants, in that you do consecrate yourselves, your time, talents, and everything with which the Lord has blessed you, or with which he may bless you, to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, for the building up of the kingdom of God on the earth and for the establishment of Zion." Still makes me sick to think that I grew up as a Mormon not knowing what happens in these temples... They even have a class, which I took, called "Temple Prep". Mostly they talked about how important it is to make promises to god. Nothing about how you promise to give everything to the church. Nothing about green aprons and hats and veils. Nothing about chanting and secret handshakes.

The Boise temple is one of my favorite places on earth! Even before I was baptized into the Church it was one of my greatest blessings and joys to spend time on the grounds and in the waiting room. Now I enjoy living worthy of a temple recommend every day and attending as often as I can to do my part in the Lord’s work, see the lovely and helpful temple workers, and take in the beauty which there is no shortage of!

I enjoy everything the Boise temple has to offer. All is sacred to me and nothing is offensive in any way. It is a privilege to pay 10% of my income for tithing to the church and the clothing and covenants are holy, respectable, and encouraging. The enlightenment one gets by attending the temple is worth far more than the 10% of tithing that is required. It seems a small sacrifice compared to the blessings received each time I go. Having had so many prayers answered because of routine attendance I can certainly say that it is worth the price to pay to gain entry. People may mock the ceremony on YouTube by quoting ceremonial comments and by making fun of the dress codes but those who regularly attend fully understand and appreciate the words, clothing, and covenants entered into and do so willingly and happily.

This building is so beautiful. As you drive down the highway it stands out and you can't miss it. It's a great place to go and contemplate the purpose of life.
