Cute Swedish chocolate and candy store on the upper East side. We visited on a Wednesday night before going around the town to see decorated houses for Halloween. So many candies and chocolates to choose and it’s fairly priced surprise!. Didn’t like the salty skull but like the sweet and sour candies! Will stop by again when in the area!
I placed an order on January 14th. Online it said the order may be delayed 4-6days typically says it ships in 24 hours due to an increase in orders which I completely understand. I just received my order today February 7th three weeks after ordering. I ordered a sweet mix and a sour mix. Both come with a good amount of candy in them, however, as a retail business they are very aware of the items going around on social media and what people most people are wanting to see in their orders. I didn’t receive any of the popular candy that is currently trending not even one. Instead my bag of sour candy has maybe 4 different things instead of a variety a large one being the sour rainbow ribbon candy you can buy here way cheaper. I’m highly disappointed that I spend $50 on candy that you can clearly tell is just whatever they had left over instead of stocking what they know is popular. Very disappointed in my experience. I would discourage from ordering any type of variety bags unless you can go in and pick out your own products.
Have been wanting to come here since I saw it pop off on tik tok! The amount of choices here were great and the customer service was amazing too. Everyone here was super nice and helpful! Sadly, they didn’t have any of the BUBS oval/marshmallow pieces but there were plenty of BUBS skulls. It gets a lil packed so be mindful of that because this store is a bit on the smaller side so it’s hard to walk around each other. Other than that, it was a great experience and the candy is delicious! Will definitely be coming back for more!
Discovered they have Swedish Hotdogs on Sundays. They are super nice. They had complimentary beer along with the hotdogs. It was really good. The crunchy onions and creamy shrimp salad made a tasty dog.Food: 4/5
Took forever to come and when it did half of the candies that were in the sweet and sour bag were candy I could get at the mall or any other candy store. Definitely not worth the price or pay. Expected to get some actual Swedish candy that everyone shows but not the case. Had a few pieces that were good but rest of it wasn’t worth it. Good candy but not what I paid for. I’m sure in store it’s wonderful but online shopping and experience was not the best.
Went on a particularly busy day, and had to stand in line for around 10-15 minutes. That I do not mind at all, and there was an employee outside the door handling some boxes who was very sweet + was overall very kind. Once several customers left the store, I was let in by the employee I mentioned beforehand, who also unhooked the little barricade thing to allow me to enter the store. However, as soon as I entered I was greeted by a very unfriendly worker at the register who immediately yelled at me for entering. I explained to her that i was LET in by the other employee, but she continued to question me until the employee from outside confirmed with her that I was in fact, let in by her. The blonde woman at the register was incredibly rude to me, yet suddenly so kind to the people who entered after me not questioning how they had gotten in. It was ridiculous how she assumed that I simply walked in on my own when there was someone at the front making sure the store did not go over capacity. Furthermore, the area is tight—-and someone bumped into me making me spill my coffee all over my clothes. I asked the same employee at the register if they had napkins or paper towels, and she said “no we do not” with quite a rude tone. While I understand the store was busy, she was not serving anyone and I find it hard to believe that a store that sells candy and ice cream doesn’t have a single paper towel. I would have been more understanding if she had been kinder to me in the first place. I heard such great reviews about this store yet this employee fully ruined my experience + there was barely any candy available for purchase. The store was messy, sugar and stray pieces of candy were all over the floor with no one cleaning it up, and the selection was lackluster to say the least. The candy I did get was pretty good, but the terrible customer service really really disappointed me. FYI the lady who really made this experience tolerable was someone with short, curly black hair. Please let her know that she is doing amazing and really softening the blow of the downright terrible customer service.
Unfortunately I would discourage anyone to place an order online with this company during this time of peak interest in Swedish candy. My husband attempted to order me a Valentine’s Day surprise of BonBon’s candy. He placed the order on 01/23, which then said there was an 8-10 day delay. No problem as that should have arrived in time. Days before Valentine’s Day, it still hadn’t shipped. As of today, 02/19, it still has not shipped. Their website currently says 10-12 business days, which we are still beyond that. My husband has reached out 3 times to try to cancel, in which we have only received a response once which was an automated response, but no confirmation on cancellation. It’s rather unfortunate because we would have loved to try the candy and only attempted to cancel due to the inability to ship our order based on the listed times and now a lack of customer service response…I have heard many good things about this small business, so if you’re able, I would encourage you to rather visit in store than order online. Unfortunately we may have to dispute the charge if they either do not deliver or respond to us on cancellation. Quite a bummer to wait this long and not even try something you’ve been longing to try :
Update: 2/16 I received my candy and the mix is amazing!!! So delicious and fresh with so much variety. I would 100% order again it was very much worth the wait. I have not received any update on my order and I ordered 21 days ago with an 8 business day delay on orders. Even with the new 12 business day hold on orders I should have received some confirmation by now. I will obviously update and leave higher stars when I receive a shipping email or get the candy. Wanted this to be a valentines gift for my boyfriend : Editing - I still have not received my delivery but Bon Bon replied to my review very nicely and explained. I look forward to receiving my order. Just wanted to update my review and assign a better rating.
I was very excited to receive my order as it took over a month to arrive, but i did not get a single bubs or ANY of the popular candy in my mixes. I know that comes with ordering the mixes, but it is still very disappointing as most of the candy I got is clearly leftover. If you ordered the mixes and are expecting a good assortment, I would cancel and reorder when everything is in stock. I am so sad as it was not worth waiting over a month and paying over $50 :
I placed my order on 1/18 with an 8-10 business day delay due to a popularity surge on social media. It has now been 16 business days with no shipping update whatsoever. IF I do receive something I am afraid it won’t be what I ordered or the selection won’t be that great based on what other customers have posted. Part of my order was a birthday gift for my goddaughter but her birthday is long gone now. I may have to dispute this with my bank if I don’t hear anything soon. I’ve tried to be understanding and patient, and held back on emailing them for answers, but this is not right and this experience has been super disappointing :
