This is hands down one of the best sushi experiences I've had in New York. The service was impeccable and the staff was knowledgeable about the menu and recommended their favorites which are now mine! Getting to watch the chef handcraft the rolls and crispy rice was epic. Not only did I enjoy the food, it was also my birthday and they made sure I felt special with a delicious desert and sake! Will definitely be coming back soon!
Awful!! Unedible!! Nothing like the photos on the site!! The spicy tuna crispy rice was cold and hard, and the ginger seaweed salad never arrived. So I phoned them and was informed that they no longer make it, even though it remains listed on the menu, and I was charged for it. However, they have not yet removed the charge from my account. Not ordering from them again.
Got some take out for a picnic in Central Park. There’s a separate take out counter where your food will be ready to go. It’s always a nice surprise when staff are kind and trying to accommodate your needs, which was the case today. The way that the food was packaged was neat and user-friendly, perfect for a picnic. And as for the food itself, everything was savory and quite good. Happy with my experience today and planning to go back for a dine in experience.
Worst sushi experience of my life. My office order from here regularly, I never part take because I feel the fish isn't great quality. Regardless of that, time has passed and I thought to give this place another try. Today, I ordered the hotbox. In my SECOND bite I find a SHARP BONE in the yellowtail roll. This place is absolutely disgusting. Please do better.
It was a sunny and cold afternoon in late November when we were shopping at upper east side. We stopped by to have lunch outside at this Bondi Sushi. It was cold weather and great food. We ordered salmon avocado hand-roll and king salmon sashimi.Food: 5/5
Bondi is a neat spot. There is one big island bar with bar seating all around. They also have a takeout side where they do a bunch of business. Went with the $32 lunch special. They also have a $26 one. The salmon sashimi and crispy rice were delicious. The sushi was well made and fresh. I bet they do more takeout than dine in. A little more pricey than your typical neighborhood sushi place. Good not great.
My wife and I have become regulars at Bondi UES. Their food is nothing short of incredible with some of the best made and freshest sushi you can get in all of Manhattan. Dine in and watch how fast it arrives. Their staff is professional and truly genuine. I wish I could give more than 5 stars.
My boyfriend and I come here at least once a month. The staff is super friendly, they’re always careful to ensure my hand rolls are gluten free and that they have tamari on hand because I have Celiacs. I’d recommend the salmon crispy rice and the yellowtail scallion hand roll. Happy hour is great here too
The food was acceptable however the order taking and serving was very confused with the chef asking what we ordered and what piece goes to what person from our party of four. All the plates got mixed up. When I mentioned this to the manager he actually started by saying we are confused before he apologized. It’s a chain and my expectations might have been too high.
Bondi Sushi on the Upper East Side receives a two-star rating due to a disappointing overall experience. While the restaurant may have some redeeming qualities, there are notable aspects that fall short of expectations. The ambiance at Bondi Sushi may not live up to the standards expected for a sushi establishment. Whether it’s the decor, lighting, or general atmosphere, there seems to be room for improvement to create a more inviting and enjoyable dining environment. Additionally, the culinary experience, which is crucial for a sushi restaurant, leaves something to be desired. Whether it’s the freshness of the ingredients, the execution of rolls, or the overall flavor profile, there are perceived shortcomings that contribute to the two-star rating.
