Story

Nestled among miles of beachfront development are 35 acres of a pristine barrier island ecosystem that make up the Bonnet House estate. See one of the finest orchid collections in the U.S., and catch a glimpse of playful monkeys and a majestic swan.

If you’re in the area, THIS IS A MUST SEE! Full of art, nature and abundant history. The staff is great, knowledgeable, and very helpful. Our tour guide was John - he gave us a marvelous tour through the house with lots of great information. Thank you, John!! We left inspired by everything we saw. Will be back for sure!

A unique discovery, historical home that surfaces life in 1920s South Florida. A home / studio of two American artists that turned 35 acres of land, previously a swamp, into a native barrier island ecosystem. The house offers a collection of art of the Birch/Bartlett families. Become familiar with one of the finest orchid collections, while catching a view of unique birds and fish. We toured the house and then the property and had a lovely day.

This is a beautiful historical house in Fort Lauderdale.  Bonnet House is one of the first things I experienced after moving to this area.  This was also a great spot to take out of town visitors to. 

This museum is located very close to Fort Lauderdale Beach.  We came for a visit at the end of July and it was scorching hot out.  I think it would be much more pleasant to stroll the grounds in Florida's cooler months, so if you can visit in winter I think you will get a lot more out of this experience. 

I especially enjoyed the tour we went on, it was very interesting to learn about the former owners of the property.  Our tour guide was great!

I really liked seeing the interior of the house, but the exterior and the grounds were my favorite part.  There were so many cool architectural elements!

Photography is a bit of a hobby for me, so I enjoyed all of the great photo opportunities found on the grounds.

We went on a tram tour too, that was well worth the couple of bucks since it since it was brutally hot out during our visit.

Really loved my experience here and had an excellent tour guide. I loved the available times for the tours and the prices were really decent. The decor and artistry of the home was one of a kind. The gardens were amazing and the swan was so wonderful to see him swimming and acknowledging tge visitors with his passing by. You will love it here every single thing!!!

This is such a beautiful venue. So many events can take place here. I had the opportunity to attend a party and the architecture was delightful. I highly recommend this
