It's a nice place with a good enough variety of books, gifts, and geek paraphernalia to overcome its less than ideal location.
I mention location as a drawback because, while high profile, it is isolated from all of the other nearby shops by a very large, very busy parking lot. This means that of you didn't leave the house intending to go to Books-A-Million, you probably aren't going to go to Books-A-Million. This is shame as business would almost certainly improve were the store more accessible on foot.
As I said, the store is nice, although it does lack the atmosphere of Barnes & Noble. Perhaps this is due to the lighting or the half-height bookshelves, but something is just.... different. I have not found the staff to be overly personable, but they seem to be readily available should you have the nerve to interrupt them making their after work plans.
This is a nice bookstore to visit although it doesn't really lend itself to popping in for a quick browse.

Our cashier was so fabulous and knowledgeable! She is younger and made some really good suggestions for our teen girls. Super happy with this place

The store was nice, if you've been to a Barnes & Noble this place will feel quite similar. They have a good selection of books, and the staff is okay and i did enjoy their African American selection so no complaints

Nice play but not really that good for books. Half the store is filled with toys and the organization is odd.

Customer service associate was rude. They don’t have a good selection of lots of categories and it’s very hot in there.
