I'm here twice a week studying, but it's not a great atmosphere. Two of the three baristas that work here are super chatty and loud with coworkers and with friends that come to visit them at work. I'm here now, and have had it with it not being a quiet bookstore or coffee shop atmosphere that one would expect from a bookstore or coffee shop. Not even other guests who come here to catch up are as loud as these two baristas. I'm looking for a new study spot. Two stars instead of one because I like the coffee and the easy listening music selection overhead. :(

Great staff. If you're a regular, and they know you, they'll stop bothering you about magazines. If not, just ask loudly about porn. They'll get the hint pretty quick. Overall, I love this place and spend way too much money there. Lots of dorky junk I don't need, but have to buy anyway. Plus, THA BOOKS!

Great Selection, Good Customer Service Books-A-Million (or BAM, for short) is my favorite location to buy books in the Quad Cities. A former Borders bookstore, the layout has been relatively the same. The selection is great with novels, comics, text books, toys, magazines, and anything you could expect from a big box bookstore. This location also has its own coffee shop with a good selection and a relaxing atmosphere. Different groups often meet here for activities and are respectful to other patrons. This shop has both lounge seating and dining seating. Staff attitude and customer service is good overall. Employees are helpful and have no problem assisting customers with finding the book they're looking for. Unfortunately, this is yet another location where membership inquiries can be burdensome. Reminders on how much you could save by becoming a member are made at every purchase. These reminders aren't usually made with a snotty attitude, such as with similar stores in this area, but they can be annoying. Overall, I would definitely recommend Quad City book enthusiasts to check out this store if they already haven't. If staff would lighten up on the membership inquiries, this store would definitely get 5 stars from me.

Enough with the discount card and magazines. Feels like a used car salesman

Barren selection, absent employees, way too pushy trying to get me to buy a discount card and magazine subscriptions
