Finally! An establishment where the chefs know how to cook lamb. The lamb kabobs were incredible, cooked and seasoned perfect. Seriously the star of my dinner show. Even if you have bad memories as a kid of lamb … which most gen x people do, Boqueria is here to bring back your faith in this tasty dish. My Paella was good, it was not great. However, I will go back, I believe the paella can be great at Boqueria. I did not get the crispy layer I went straight to digging for. My server explained many people send it back if it is actually cooked correctly as a paella with the “burnt” rice bottom layer. Then she explained if I specifically ask for it, they will do it. The paella other than that was delectable with a generous amount of seafood, well cooked I might add. I’ll change my rating to 5 stars if when I go back, and I will, and my paella has a bit more crunch. Compliments to the chef s for trying to make people happy though.
We were looking for a quick Sunday brunch spot on our weekend anniversary trip and found this place on Google. There was street parking in front and plenty of it around on side streets as well. We made a reservation but it was pretty empty when we got there at 1130. It got a little bit busier as time went on but not really. The food was absolutely incredible. We love tapas and decided to have the "brunch feast". I was worried it wouldn't be enough food but it was more than enough and we didn't even finish it. You get to choose 5 items and it even comes with dessert churros which I somehow missed in the description. We picked patatas bravas, croquetas with the ham, huevos horneados, tosta de aguacate, and coca de setas no onions. They also offer unlimited mimosas or sangria for 1.5 hours but I didn't want to fill up on alcohol. I did have the peach sangria, which was good and tasted very very light. Our only complaint was how long it took at times. We were there for almost 2 hours and the longest wait we had was for the dessert almost 20 minutes. The decor is really beautiful. The staff were extremely nice. The kitchen is open and you can see them cooking the food. We were going to pay at the table using the QR code but there was a $2.50 fee that they add on hidden in the very last screen so we paid the server directly instead. We couldn't believe it wasn't busier with the quality of food and if we ever go back to West Hartford, we will definitely go again for dinner so we can have the paella.
The food was superb! We had ham and cheese croquettes. Shrimp in a garlic and spicy sauce. Paella. A pitcher of white sangria. And of course, some churros, and they were served with 3 different types of chocolate dipping sauce. The atmosphere had a very chill vibe, elegant, &dark wood decor. The staff was too notch! Our waitress Cici was so delightful and sweet! Parking: Their valet service is complementary.
Ohhhh Boqueria.. we are so glad that you found a home in West Hartford. We have since dined twice at that location and we appreciate the overall experience. The first time we went was during our anniversary in Oct 2023 and we just came from a horrible experience at a different dining establishment, it was also the first week that Boqueria was open and so we went in on a Sunday afternoon and it was a perfect time to sit at the bar and just take it all in. While the servers and bartenders were finding their way, they were still very much on top of Service, and also very kind. The ambience gives me fun very New York vibes and the food is pretty great. When we went the second time, I will say what I really appreciated was the chefs tasting menu. The amount of food you get for the price is very reasonable. The server made sure to ask about any food allergies, what we liked, what we didn't like, and was able to customize a dining experience to those preferences. And there was much more food than we knew what to do with, and that made us very very happy The drinks are great and they have a pretty extensive menu. If you were looking for a diverse and tasty food experience with great cocktails this is the place to go. The only reason for 4 out of 5 stars is that we are from EU Portugal/Spain and it's really hard to compare once you experience the origin of tapas from those countries. I would say we liked eight or nine out of 10 of the things that we would order and that's OK that's the tapas experience.. you get to try a little bit of everything, and everyone will find something to enjoy.
I came here for dinner on a Saturday with my husband and we both got the chefs tasting menu. We were excited since it was all up to the chef and we didn't know what food we were getting ahead of time. It did not disappoint! Absolutely delicious food. Our server was so nice and friendly and gave good recommendations. The inside was a fun vbe, definitely got louder as more people showed up but nothing to complain about. Definitely recommend!
Loud but fun. Jennifer was amazing and we really enjoyed the recommendations she gave us. Our favorites were: PICANHA A LA PARRILLA 18 50z / 34 10oz Top Sirloin steak, roasted carrot puree, mojo verde, grilled lime ESPARRAGOS CON ROMESCO 13 Grilled asparagus, hazelnut romesco allioli, hazelnuts, lemon zest, Manchego cheese. PINTXOS MORUNOS 16 Two seared lamb skewers, pickled shallots, salsa verde. We will definitely be back. Thank you Jennifer!
Great chef's menu. Elegant atmosphere. Easily accommodated a large group for a business dinner with great service. Everyone loved the food, tons of variety. Only issue: the bartender couldn't get our drink orders right. Parking was tricky if you don't know the area. Plan to arrive a few minutes early, pay to park, and walk for a bit. Very cool shopping area, though. Parking: There's a paid lot for the shopping center if you walk a couple of blocks. There is paid on street parking, too, but as an out of town visitor I could not figure out how to pay for it. Didn't want to get towed, so paid the steep parking fee for the ramp.
I think this restaurant is new in the area, I like the location, it is easy to access and the decoration,I love Spanish cuisine, their croquettes, cheese board and delicious meatballs make me want to retorna and the service is magnificent..... The sangria they may be better, it's a very personal opinion, but they are refreshing.... In general, I would like to return!!! Wheelchair accessibility: Yes.
Food was great. Very cool bar. What got me the most though was how friendly the staff was! Right away the bartenders introduced themselves and always made sure we had everything we needed. While sitting at the bar you get a mixture of different food runners/waiters bringing you your orders probably had 3/4 different people every one of them was as nice and welcoming as the next! The customer service was truly incredible. This place could survive alone on customer service. Thanks for the experience, we will be back.
On a busy Friday night our table was ready for us right at the time our reservation was scheduled. Greeted promptly and professionally by our server Ashley, walked us through the drink menu and dinner menu efficiently and knowledgeably. Which was followed up with stellar drinks and amazing food. Amazing experience for an awesome date night! 10/10 will be back 10/10 will recommend
