AVOID! I was a frantic pet owner this morning when I found blood soaked into my dog's fur after I took her outside to potty. My vet clinic was not open so I decided to use my old vet and my mothers current vet. I called them and explained that she had blood coming from her rear and was relieved that they could see my dog right away. I gave her a bath, dried her off and then headed to see them. Upon arrival I explained my situation again and even showed a picture of her bloody discharge to the receptionist/vet tech there. When the doctor came in he promptly lifted her tail, inspected her backside and declared she was in heat. I was so relieved but asked if he was sure. He assured me she was fine. I found it strange that he did nothing more than lift her tail and inspect her for a minute or two, but figured he knew more than me so I paid the fee (over $30 for two minutes of his time) and left. When I came home at lunch, my dog was once more covered in her own blood, fecal matter and was now puking excessively (I think I counted 10-12 times). I called my usual vet, who was now open, and begged for their help which they gladly gave. They took their time and took a fecal test, felt on her belly, looked in her ears, nose and eyes and confirmed that the blood was not caused by her being in heat but by colitis. She was very dehydrated at this point as well and was given fluids since she weighs less than four pounds and her situation could turn fatal if she was not hydrated and her blood sugar dropped. I called the vet who misdiagnosed my dog and asked that they refund the charge for the 'brief exam' that was absolutely worthless and they said no. Their reasoning, and I quote, is that the doctor had taken his time to see her and had given his best guess. I'm a college student and I don't have extra money to be wasting on guesses- especially if they are incorrect. My mother and I will never set foot in this clinic again.

Dr. Burns is the most caring, wonderful vet. We have lived way across town for 12 years and still go here.

My elderly cat didn't eat for 2 days. They got her right in without an appointment. She got a steroid shot and is doing better. Thank you, Dr Burns and staff.
