Most police officers  are hero’s and should be honored. Whether you live in a small community or city. Police officers put their lives on the line to keep law and order. They make our world a safer place. I am grateful🙏 Thank you !

This happened a couple of months ago, but I feel like its within my rights to share my story. If the police in this area have a problem with it, then they should teach their officers how to show respect for the general public.

I was harassed and belittled by a group of officers after I had called 911 for a suspicious vehicle tailing me. The driver in question accused me of hitting their vehicle from behind. The officers immediately took their side and accused me of being a liar and being under the influence (I repetitively told them that no, I had never taken marijuana nor did I have anything to drink that night). One of the officers was belligerent, telling me off for putting my hands in my pocket (it was cold and my hands were  freezing) and "making them come off as stupid". 

I did not hit that vehicle and the officers failed to realize that I was in front of the vehicle in question the entire drive, so how could I hit a person from behind if I was in front? Also, I have never done a hit-and-run in my entire life and if I hit someone's car, I would have the common decency to pull over right away and share my information .

Overall, this made me lose faith in the Bozeman Police Department. I will never be calling 911 again. The officers made me come off as a criminal when I told the truth and did nothing wrong.

Considering how many people have moved to Bozeman in the last ten years. I think Boz. PD is doing a bang up job. I'm not nervous when a BPD vehicle is behind me. But I'm also not a dirt bag criminal either. When I first arrived in Boz. I was pulled over for speeding while driving around looking for a fishing spot. I was given a warning and directions to the local fishing access. I think police are under paid for the tasks  which they preform on a daily basis.

Only putting one star because I've tried to call their non-emergency number multiple times and the second you hit the option to speak to an officer the line just hangs up? What's the point of having the police if you can only contact them in a serious emergency? It's very frustrating that their non-emergency number is really there for nothing.
