Very unorganized office and the doctor definitely doesn’t seem to make you a priority over her dog that is constantly in the room. Doctor Brewster is always late by at least 45 minutes (minimum) and she just flat out does not seem very knowledgeable in this field. This is my first pregnancy and I had no guidance on anything (everything I know so far has been from books or fellow moms), I was asked the reason for my visit multiple times because she didn’t know and confused my ultrasound appointments for an annual exam, would read off lab results for the first time in front of me without reading them herself prior to that and confuse the results with normal vs. abnormal, and the office never called me when lab work would come in, I had to call and ask every time. That is just to name a few of my consistent issues with this doctor and doctors office. I’m almost 6 months pregnant now and have officially switched my doctor to a much more welcoming, professional, and caring doctor and doctors office. I would not recommend Dr. Brewster to ANYone, especially first time moms who need and want a doctor who cares about you and your baby’s well being.

I have been a patient of Dr. Brewster's for many years. She has always been kind, caring, professional and an all around wonderful doctor. She does run late from time to time but that is because she is so caring that she takes extra time with each of her patients. I hope that she will remain my Doctor for many years to come.

I have always found Dr. Mary Kay Brewster to be warm, empathetic, and caring in my 10 years of seeing her as my GYN. During menopause, she was extremely helpful, and when I was in for an annual once and happened to have one of my (then) recurring bronchitis episodes, she referred me to a doctor that I liked so much she became my new primary after she resolved the bronchitos by treating me for 2 conditions I didn't know I had. Dr. Brewster is kind and soft-spoken, and explains everything she is doing and why. Any bad news has been delivered kindly and I always get the feeling that all will be well. She called me after hours recently to gently tell me of an unusual pap result and what our next step should be, detailed the procedure, and how it would feel to me. She took the time to answer all my questions. I am fairly at ease about it after her call. Of course I am nervous and anxious about what might be found, but at least I feel safe in her hands and know she will treat me with her usual genuine warmth and attention to detail in her medical approach, as will her staff. Her office on El Dorado St reflects her spirit with decor I call "Laura Ashley" style, with very comfortable chairs that become the exam "table" ...with foot warmers on the stirrups....and lovely paintings and femine decor. The Ryan Ranch office is a more standard general purpose exam room and table. I HIGHLY recommemd Dr. BREWSTER, especially for anyone who is anxious re gyn appointments.

Before the MA put me into a room, a sales rep came into the office and requested to meet with the doctor. The receptionist said she would check with the doctor. The MA brought me back to a room and said I would be seen when she finished with the last patient. (I work in a doctors office, so I understand getting behind) I waited in my room, with just the open front gown on for over an hour. I'm pretty sure the doc saw the sales rep between me and the last patient... Then when I was finally seen, my conversation and exam was interrupted multiple times by her dog wanting to come in and out of the exam room! SMH... I know California has a different mentality and way of life, but I've already been in the office for 1.5 hours, it was a routine checkup and now this dog is getting more attention than I am while I"m being examined and trying to talk to the doctor. Needless to say, I was distracted, flabbergasted, and annoyed and didn't even ask my important questions. Well, I'm going to find a new doctor. Dr. Brewster was nice and personable, but I do believe that in order for the patient to respect the doctor, the doctor also has to respect the patient. I was in that office for 2 hours...

my two appointments with this "doctor" were both horrible and i would only recommend this woman to my very worst enemy. and her staff was just as awful as she was too. she may look good, and may treat some of her patients well, but she treated me terribly, refused to help me, and yelled at me in front of her whole office. i have never been treated with such disrespect. it just goes to show that just cause an ob/gyn is a woman, that does not mean she will show compassion towards other women.
