We had a terrible experience at bright futures. My son attended to the end of first grade and we pulled him out. No "reading running records" to speak of. No accountability. Terrible teachers. They lied and told us our child was doing well and he learned nothing there. Thank GOD we trusted our gut and not them. The best thing we ever did for our child is get him out of there.

Do not put your children in this school !!!! First of all it is racist! If your kid is black they will get suspended for every little thing!! They do not work with the kid they are quick to get rid of them especially if they are Black! The front desk is rude I wish I wouldn't have ever put my child there he gets suspended every week and they call my phone for every little thing !!! I'm aggravated and frustrated with this school I wish I can home school but I need to work full time pay my bills!!!

I come from a career that involved digging and researching. Now that I am My Kids Mom, I naturally bring this trait to the table. My son will be in Kindergarten next year and will be joining the school. This decision did not come without hours and hours of research. I visited Bright Futures Light House Campus, Summit Christian, Nativity, Trinity PG, St. Claire and my zoned school several times. I took into account grades, diversity, school establishment, location, communication (with parents), board minutes, past history, test's used, how students advanced, Mommy word of mouth (priceless), media articles/information, P. E. requirements, outdoor activities, What was the school doing outside of its walls? How old were the computers? I searched every Choice school on the internet in Lake Worth, Boynton and West Palm Beach area, over thirty at least. I took all these things and more into consideration. Keep in mind that I visit the Palm Beach County Website, I receive all the school email updates for the area, and I continue to read the Bright Futures board minutes and newsletters. I also, looked at Health Department Records. Needless, to say I am well informed. Bright Futures is offering a private education that not only meets, but exceeds some of the private schools I visited. Only, one school came close...(I won't get into that).... How do they do this? With a Board that is run by Members of the community and Parents. People who are donating there time to make a difference for our children and future. The school gets the same amount of tax dollars from the state just like a public school, but they fund raise to meet the deficient by holding car washes, garage sales and more. A charter school means that the board make the overall decision's for the school, but also follows county test requirements. I am starting to hear about Bright Futures more often at dinner conversations. My goal next year, (as should every parent that is getting a private education at no cost) is to volunteer, be the biggest cheerleader and offer any skill or talent that would make the school grow. Of course, how would my research be efficient without naming any drawbacks. My initial concern were the K-3 facilities, the building is older and can use some improvements. I quickly got over that, by the saying's..."Drive a small car, own a big house, Never judge a book by it's cover." Recently, the Board has been looking into upgrading this facility. See, there on it!! Go to the website and read the board minutes! I would love to give you information overload, but I think I have done enough. I can go on....
