Story

BRINE’s sleek, stainless and Carrera marble bar, industrial lighting and ample galvanized furnishings make the fresh fish and butchered meats the stars of the show. Drop by to chose from a daily smorgasbord of Ceviche, Crudo — fresh Bivalves, Tartare, Sashimi, Carpaccio — Cotton, Brandade, and Espumas in addition to select prime cuts and butchered chops. Carpet Baggers, Daily Dock specials and Po’boys will round out a menu of Italian and Spanish influences.

So this restaurant is hands down the best restaurant in Newburyport, and one of my personal favorite restaurants. To start, the oysters here are always fresh and flavorful, generally coming from different local fisheries. Their clam & pork chowder is the best soup I've ever had, and their entrees are cooked to perfection every time. Even though this is a seafood place, their steaks are better than you'll find at nearly any steakhouse. This place is great for a meal, or a drink and a bite. This restaurant is expensive, but the food you get here justifies the price, because it's simply the best you can ask for. The service here is also top notch, and the staff here are well trained and know what they're talking about. Bottom line, if you've got extra money to spend on a nice dinner, this is the place to come!

For an a place that prides themselves on oysters, they make one of the best steaks I've ever had. Always cooked to absolute perfection! I have gotten this multiple times and it is consistently amazing. Their oyster selection is great and rotates but all the staff and servers there are knowledgeable about each type of oyster and always make great suggestions. Always fresh always fantastic highly recommend this restaurant.

Great out around the holidays. Oysters we're good, but their sauces were fair. Service was lacking.

We had a reservation for 745 on a Saturday. We arrived at 722, asked if we could be seated early as there were four empty tables. The woman said no, reservations were only being seated on time. Fine. We came back at 740 and the woman said our table would be ready in a few minutes. The same four tables were still empty, and every other table in the place was still eating, so it's not like they were waiting for another table to clear. We ask if we could sit outside (as the tables were empty), and she responded with yes, but never offered this as an option before. While waiting for our water, a couple walked in with no reservation at 755 and was given one of the empty tables inside. We were furious and walked out. Absolutely ridiculous to be asked to wait 20 minutes when none of the empty tables ended up being full.

Food is out-of-this-world good! Great service. Outstanding selection of wines. Worth every cent. Will be placed on my 'highly recommend ' and 'can't wait to come back' lists.
