This is great for hikes, typically moderate to very difficult depending on your start location. Gloria Terrace offers mostly pretty steep terrain, Old Briones Rd in the North side starts you already at altitude and offers great views in exchange for some more moderate hikes. Early morning and dusk are best for seeing turkeys, deer, coyotes, etc. Just be aware of snakes, rattlers will give lots of warning and they are easy to avoid.

Love this portion of Briones.  Many big oaks for my kids to climb.  Our favorite is before the first cattle trough.  We call it "Fallen Tree" because this mammoth oak has a huge limb severed and hanging, with it's distal limbs firmly planted in the ground.  Perfect for running on.  Fun to see cows grazing and riders on horses.  You may want to have dogs wear foxtail guards.  Plenty of well defined trails and "fire roads".  Great for hikes up the hills or, jogging on the flats.  Lots of flat walking at trailhead so multi generations can enjoy together.  Large fenced picnic area with water fountains, grills and an outhouse.

Plenty of hiking trails; some give good views of San Pablo bay. Lots of wildlife. Dogs and horses are allowed. Good place for mountain biking.

Great park! Gates close at 8 sharp so make sure you're done hiking by then.

Briones is one of the best regional parks in the area!  Miles of trails, incredible views, great picnic areas.
