I can’t see why people are drawn to Brix, but other than the bottomless mimosas $10, the food is not the top of my list. Most of the entree range from $17+ if you’re getting some sort of protein. Followed the recommendations and got the fried chicken and gravy. It was very teeny and dry. I love my hash crispy and they were so soggy. No wait typically on Saturday or Sunday for brunch since this place is huge
My partner and I had dinner here before a concert, and were pretty disappointed. The service was extremely slow. It took about 15 minutes before we could even order our drinks, and at least 15 minutes to get our drink. I understand being busy and things taking time, but it was not busy. Usually if we get dinner, we get 2 drinks and our meal. Because of how long everything took, we barely had time for one. Now the food was good. My partner got a wagyu beef burger, and he said it was phenomenal. He did ask for extra sauce, which he said he didnt get. But the fact his burger was that good, he was able to look past it. I ordered the Brix fried chicken breast, which came with country gravy and seasonal veggies. The chicken was amazing and juicy and perfectly fried. The veggies were perfectly cooked and seasoned. I devoured them so quickly. But the gravy...I was expecting country gravy, but I got a brown gravy. Not that brown gravy isn't good, but I was expecting country gravy, so that was very disappointing. The food was so good, but it was so hard to get past the brown gravy. All in all, I dont think we will return. The food was amazing, but not worth the long wait and super slow service. And definitely not worth getting the wrong kind of gravy with my chicken and mashed potatoes
Me and my friends had a great time. Service was quick and we were served on the house donuts. Quality and quantity of food was reasonable.Food: 5/5
This place is huge. Offers an upscale casual bar area with tons of tables, but also has a balcony and private event room that are tucked away in a secluded and really nice area. The food is always great and the menu choices are great. The quinoa salad is the only thing that needs a revamp. But I’ve had so many enjoyable dishes otherwise.
Brix Tavern has been the spot for many of my boozy Sundays, their bottomless mimosas hit the spot and you definitely get what you pay for! Their food is delicious, I’ve never had any issues with the food and always try new thing because it’s all so good. The brunch comes with these complimentary fruit and cream covered donuts that are amazing, I wish I could buy some to take home. Their dinner is just as good as their brunch, I recommend the pot pie!
I came here for a Portland Burger Week burger. It was fine, patty felt over worked and/or low quality, not nice meat to be cooking to medium temp. Do not recommend brix at all. The servers made a big stink about us potentially having more than 8 people at once without making a reservation, even though the place is huge and was mostly empty on a Friday night--during portland burger week . Before hardly anyone showed up, and with some of my quietest co-workers, they actually told us to NOT BE LOUD. Service was insanely slow even though 5-6 servers were working. It would take 10-20 minutes to receive a beer in a can One IPA on tap $8! We waited another 30 minutes for a burger that had been forgotten near closing when it was even more slow. The servers were kind and really did their best, I think there's something wrong with how this place is being run. It shouldn't take that long for a drink at a "Tavern."
The Brix Tavern is an amazing place. I've been there for brunch, dinner and I've also ordered takeout before. I love the food, I always get their salt and pepper calamari regardless of what I'm actually trying to get for my meal. Happy hour is really nice too when you meet it and it's for food not all meals though and drinks. It is quite pricey but I love their food so I keep going back. Ordering online for takeout was super easy too. Ambience is great inside but you can sit outside and people-watch. Service is nice and the people there are cool. Seating doesn't take long as long as there are open seats but it's a hotspot so it can get crowded. Parking: There are several parking options.dependingnon when you get there. If you get there during the prime brunch hour or dinner, it might be difficult to find parking. Wheelchair accessibility: Very accessible entrance.
Appetizer was good calamari and halibut tacos. Main dinner was ok, I got the July dinner special ribs and chicken, the coleslaw that was included was not good at all the fries was really good. Bf ordered their whiskey burger with tots, it was ok... needed more sauce kinda dry but the tots came out perfect. The cocktails were meh I got the huckleberry daisy and my bf got the oregon mule. Order their seasonal bread pudding blueberry lemon to go that was also just ok.
I’ve been to Brix a couple times. It’s got a big menu with some really great options. The burger is delicious, and I highly recommend going during a less busy time. Service was subpar since they were understaffed and the restaurant was packed, which is understandable. I would definitely come again during dinner to try the more extensive menu! The chicken sandwich was a 2/5 in terms of the Portland competition but everything else was solid. I’m glad I went but I wouldn’t go again.
Every year we celebrate my man's birthday with a big boozy brunch. This time the staff 'forgot' ' that I booked the private dining room. But, within about 10 minutes, made it happen. Still caused me to have anxiety . Each year they struggle with the TV set up as well, causing me to stress out. The service by Bethany was wonderful. However almost every person in our 14- person party had cold food. No fault of hers. I asked everyone to endure it, and they complied. I know it's tough serving a 14-top, but I'd rather have hot food delayed, than cold food brought timely. Restroom could be better, and the walk all the way back to it. Other staff struggled helping Bethany with her other tables, so it was good that the sweet manager pitched in. Overall it's great, parking is what it is, it's the Pearl. Bring back the EAST burger please!
