It’s ALWAYS a good experience when I’m there…that Sunday vibe is something else …to have a GOOD BUNCH,then smoothly transition into a early lounge vibe.. then off to work in the morning with something to talk about at lunch time with fellas Food: 5/5
The customer service we received was EVERYTHING! Our waitress was attentive, responsive, and eager to make sure we were satisfied. Our food was hot and fresh. Our drinks were one and done very good! Vibes and music was lit. I will definitely come back when I'm in DC!Food: 5/5
Always a great time in this space. The food is amazing, the drinks are amazing, the manager always makes sure I have what I need. It’s clean and the crowd that comes in are friendly people. Very hospitable experience.Food: 5/5
From the text back once I RSVP'd, to the prompt, professional and warm welcoming "welcome to BROOKLYN on U" the gentleman at the door displayed, we knew we were gnna have a great time. Reservations were needed fo' sure! Food was popping!! Get those Henny and Honey Jack wings fo' sho! Lol Music was on point. Speakers were better upstairs. The pineapple drink was good, but $40 was a bit steep. Also, for $40, I was expecting for them to have been filled from the very bottom of the pineapple , not halfway, ya know? The waitresses are all beautiful, pleasant and professional!! Soo refreshing!! Upstairs also has reserved seating for dining, however, the bar area is free game . Definitely looking forward to returning!
This place is hella popular but I’ve never understood why, I keep coming back because all my friends always wanna come here. The downstairs is more for eating, tables, and chilling, talking. And upstairs is darker, more music, people still eat upstairs but it’s more of a club vibe. I’ve never ordered food here, because whenever I look at others it does not look enticing at all. I will say it’s very gay friendly which is good. I think it’s small and I’ve never understood why we have a NY-Themed bar in DC.
Really great service from the moment you walk in the door. The ambiance was trendy, with a live DJ and fresh flowers adorning brick walls and wooden tables. The mac and cheese may be the best I've had in the city in years. Each of our seven entrees were tasty with standard portion sizes - we really liked that the salmon came with lentils. Our drinks were presented with floral garnishes or fresh cucumbers. Each had really robust flavor, so we probably drank more than intended, because every new drink brought to the table gave someone else cocktail envy. The prices were very reasonable. I would definitely return and recommend.
Sunday is a great kickback day to enjoy brunch & relax. The bottomless mimosas is all you need . Loved the shrimp tacos.Food: 5/5
Everything was going well at this place until we realized we bought a watered down bottle of Patron. The waitress bought the bottle out and claimed she opened it in front of uswhich she did not and she poured us all shots of our bottle which I thought was inappropriate.I feel like she poured us drinks to hid the fact it wasn’t a fresh bottle. We never saw her open it and she lied saying she did.I bought several cups from the bar as well has two pitchers of mimosas and did not feel my drinks at all.Even when we started drinking the $300 bottle of Patron I did not feel the liquor at all.Food was good but do not buy alcohol here unless you want watered down liquor. We spend over $700 here for a party of 6 and that was not worth it, I will not be returning. The manager came up looking like a bodyguard asking what was wrong, at that point I didn’t want to be the typical black customer complaining so I told him nothing was wrong and that I will be writing a review to warn others.Make sure you see your waitress open your bottle to ensure your liquor hasn’t been tampered with.Black businesses please do better and stop scamming. Also if you order wings tell them you want them well done, my brothers henny wings were pink
The food was good but the service wasn’t up to par.Food: 4/5
We walked in believing they are open for late night dine in, like stated on google. The host only stated its a $20 entry fee with no other context. I found out from another employee the bar downstairs is NOT open and we must go to the party that is apparently happening upstairs just to eat. Communication between employees is nonexistent, and non additional context from hostess was also missing. letting people aware of what’s going on is ideal for a RESTAURANT. Change the type of place to restaurant and lounge. I could’ve stayed in Houston if i wanted to spend an extra $20 for entry. don’t recommend for those looking for a late night meal.
