The community here, especially for students, can be a bit rough. But most teachers are great to bond with

I studied academics here for four years, and wrestled on their varsity team. Perhaps my review reflects the state of society and education in general, rather than the specific school. Anyway, the wrestling was great. Coach Don Shuler changed my life for the better, and taught me as much, if not more than my own father ever did or could. Besides wrestling, I did not learn much directly from this high school's educational intents of socialization. It wasn't until I applied to the Early College Program that I began to learns few things. The problem I had with public education was the teachers and my peers. Teachers never went out of their way whenever I wanted to inquire more on academic subjects. Standardized learning bores me. I learned more from one day reading Style: Lessons in Grace and Clarity than I did my entire time in lectures doing boring, robotic, non mentally simulating homework. My peers were worse. Overly socialized singleminded kids who didn't know how to dialogue for the sake of inquiry. By their high school teenage ages, most of these kids believed they had experienced enough of the world to formulate, or rather, subscribe to an ideology that solved the worlds mysteries. Even today at the age of 22, I'm still learning and adapting my thinking. I will probably continue to learn and improve myself until I die. Brookville was mostly a bad experience, however, I did the best with what it had to offer and optimized my time there through wrestling and the Early College Program, which lead me to meet two of the most influential figures of my life wrestling coach Don Shuler and English professor Dr. Brophy.
