Very nice place. The building itself is beautiful inside and out. The food is good, nothing exceptional. Decently priced and appropriate for the whole family. As we discussed, it's atmosphere is like a feeble attempt to be fancy but it's not really fancy. The Train that is visible upstairs is really cool. The history of it being an old Bank building is interesting.

The Brownstone Cafe is an absolutely fabulous dining experience. First there is the decor. The building at one time was a bank, possibly the bank in the middle of a small town where identity fraud was impossible because everybody knew your name. The bank decor has been repurposed to restaurant work stations. It is a must see! And then there is the food - from my experience, I think you could close your eyes, toss a dart at the menu and order whatever it landed confident that when you leave, your party's conversation as you walk to your car will be about how good your meal was and that maybe each of you may have just found your new favorite meal. And finally there is the bill. When you compare your bill for that amazing meal to the bill for your last meal at any other restaurant, you will wonder why you pay so much at other restaurants and gamble on what you got for all that money. I say honestly that it is a check I am happy to pay because I just had a meal/no, an experience worth much more! Just don't tell the owners that last part or they might just raise the prices!

I had the chicken parmigiana and it was outstanding! The large piece of chicken breast was so tender it could be cut with a fork, and the marina sauce was delicious. All their entrees are generous and reasonably priced. This is one of our favorite places to eat.

Definitely one of my favorite places to eat in town. It's a great family restaurant. Best time to go during meals is breakfast, their baked oatmeal is to die for. I'd definitely recommend this place.

No complaints here. This place is cozy, historic, and serves good classic home cooking. Nothing super fancy but it's a Middletown classic. Always plenty of food on the plate.
