I visited this location on a Saturday evening and I had a VERY unusual experience. Each of the following statements made is 100% true and accurate: - Incredibly understaffed. (I waited 20 minutes at the bar, for 1 beer and a cocktail, and 25 minutes at the concession stand for 2 pink lemonades). Other than a gentleman named Jordan, the bartenders and concessions staff appeared to be very absentminded and worked without a sense of urgency. - The staff has extremely poor customer service skills. (Lack of communication, unable to properly articulate policies and procedures, inattentive and refusal to assume responsibility). - Management was slow to provide a very inadequate solution to an issue. (I purchased 2 hours of bowling but only received 1. I waited nearly 45 minutes for the manager to give me a $20 card to use in the arcade, not bowling. While waiting, I watched the manager greet guests that she knew on a personal level, serve as a bartender, and provide back up at the concession stands where several customers became disgruntled and impatient due to the wait times. I was forced to approach her and remind her that I had been waiting for her return. After following up with the GM the following Monday, I found her to be quite unapologetic and dishonest. After being guaranteed a callback on Tuesday, I received a callback FRIDAY). I am a VERY easygoing patron. After working in retail for years, I've grown a tolerance for mediocre service. However, this experience was unbelievably unacceptable. I'm sure this a fun place to be on a Saturday night. The music was terrific and the other guests were pleasant. However, the quality of SERVICE ruined it for my family. Just a suggestion to the management team ... take measures to thoroughly reinforce the value of EXCELLENT customer service to staff members. Set up meetings in which it is the CORE of the discussion. Post reminders in employee common areas. It can truly make or break a guest's experience.

Yes I would have to concur with some of the other bloggers, at one time this was a great place to go , especially with family. Now it has attracted "the thugs and paper gangsters"! And what I hear staff isn't that great either. I go to surrounding states most of the time like Michigan, great atmosphere, good people and a pleasant getaway. So much for Illinois "stillannoyed"!

Absolutely PATHETIC! I signed up to participate in the "freedom bowl" that supports the US Veterans. The email stated from "4-6" pm. I called the bowling alley at 5 to make sure it was still happening. The BZ employee said, "it's over at 6" so I proceeded to go. (Couldn't be there at 4, I WORK!) I did find out that HWD called all the bowlers who signed up, and to their credit, the number they had listed for me was incorrect. However, my email was accurate. When I called TODAY before going, I should have been told TODAY, Inept management! When I arrived, NO ONE stepped up and said, "I'm sorry I did tell you 6pm" The solution for my inconvenience?? A 44 MINUTE WAIT to bowl. In other words, MORE inconvenience for my INCONVENIENCE!!! I won't say "I'll never bowl there" again, but today was awful!
