A nice greeting from the landlord. Wonderful food, when you go make sure your hungry, the portions are big! I can highly recommend the scallops, I had the duo of lamb which was divine. My husband and daughter had the steak, cooked to perfection, lovely and rare. We're booking for Mothering Sunday.
Really good West Country Sirloin Steak 10z with chunky chips and the best Gluten free Sticky Toffee pud. Most of the menu is gluten free in fact! And so delicious. Staff really friendly and accommodating even when we arrived late for our booking.
Absolutely superb place to eat … met up with family this afternoon and had a lovely meal , roast dinners and burgers everything was delicious! Very reasonable prices and too quality food and very friendly service all staff very friendly and welcoming… will definitely go back again … highly recommended Thankyou to everyone there for a great afternoon
We were really looking forward to eating here. Having heard many good things, I did think the menu was pricey but sure it would be worth it. We were a little surprised paying £21 for an Aperol and Pint of Moretti but not an issue tbh as appreciate people need to make a profit. They did seem quite rushed, we had to ask for menus and waited a while to order. Sadly we never got to try the food as I asked for the Scallop dish as a main which was on the menu as £22 i asked to swap Chips to Seasonal Veg ..I don't eat chips and the veg was available on other mains...sadly the waiter advised that wasnt possible as would cause chaos in the kitchen if everyone did that....massive disapointment! So we left! And went to the Kings Arns in East Stour..which was awesome and i could swap my chips for veg there...so happy days.!
Another great meal at our local with excellent service. We & our neighbours enjoyed a wonderful Sunday lunch, thanks Phil & Jo. See you again soon.
As a vegetarian, I won't be going back for a meal. Only 2 main vegetarian meals and not tasty. Haloumi burger was chargrilled!! The service wasn't that great either: they were pleasant enough but we had to work to get them over to our table. Beer was decent though.
Stayed in the pub in May 2022, excellent locals pub, but made to feel very welcome. Good selection of beers and great food. Certainly a good base for amazing countryside walks and close to Stourhead which is fantastic. The room I stayed in was massive and so quiet, will definitely return to explore more.
Excellent 1st visit good atmosphere and decor. Great customer skill from shown by Phil. Food spot on and generous portions. Servering staff pleasant and smiley - return visit a must.
Pleasant- not the biggest menu you will find. Food is of very high quality, great service throughout our evening. We look forward to our next meal out at Stapleton Arms.
Fantastic vegetarian Sunday lunch. Friendly and attentive service. Wheelchair friendly. Lovely garden. Good choice of wine. Nice chat with Phil and Jo. Will definitely be returning.
