My job requires me to move often. An unforeseen benefit of this is I’ve had the opportunity to experience several Toyota Service Centers across the country. Today I was in with my wife's van getting a recall complete. The service representative asked if I would like to complete an additional $500 of recommend service, of which I declined. In the past I was quoted some maintenance (timing belt) on my other vehicle. I took it to a Toyota Service Center in Oregon that beat Toyota of Yakima's price by nearly $600 or 50%. They didn’t give me a deal, that was the normal price according to them. But today I thought maybe that was a misunderstanding, an isolated event, why not roll the dice on an oil change, how bad can it be? My phone rang at work, turns out both filters needed to be changed. Sure. Why not, put them in. Shortly following that I got another call, the family van is complete. Perfect lets go pick it up. Nearly $170 bill for the oil change and two air filters. Now I understand that vehicles require maintenance and I don't expect anyone to work for free, I get paid for my time so should they. I am not a mechanic nor am I an accountant however, I do have a calculator and access to YouTube. With respect to the air filters, a simple search on YouTube yields a couple videos on "how to" complete these air filter replacements I just paid for. Two filters. One video was 4:25 and the other, 3:29. These videos detail the entire process, start to finish, done by the everyday guy. One can conclude that a professional is able to complete the work in the same amount of time as the average person on YouTube. Let me be conservative and round up, say it takes ten minutes to complete both air filter replacements not the 7:54 it took two YouTubers. The labor rate of $55 I paid for that ten minutes of work equates to $330 an hour. Call me crazy but that feels high. I won’t be back.

Angel Garcia was very helpful and transparent throughout the entire process. We quickly negotiated the best price for my Tacoma Sport and he really made the experience easier than the other Toyota dealerships I had visited. I was an out of town purchaser so it was great that everything was set up and ready to go when I arrived. Was only at the dealer for an hour and a half. The only thing that I would change is that Bud Clary Toyota was closer to my home so I could continue to utilize their great staff and services. Absolutely love my new truck!

Mike in the Service Department went above and behind for me after several visits to Yakima had not solved my concerns. He personally picked up my car and returned it when repairs were finished, saving me another 80 mile roundtrip and another day of down time. I recognize that this kind of personalized service is not feasible in most situations. In the particular circumstances his willingness to resolve my concerns with my vehicle was extraordinary.

I have been bringing my Lexus to Bud Clary Toyota of Yakima for about 12 years now and have seen firsthand a gradually improving quality of service. This last visit was a class act in how fine service can be. Everyone was extremely helpful and friendly. Congratulations to Toyota of Yakima for making ones visit comfortable and enjoyable!

Your dealership needs to team up and honor Toyota Extracare agreements or tell other dealerships to stop saying you will. I scheduled an oil change- from the sticker your service department put in my window. I also asked if I could get my lay 25,000 checkup and do my 30,000 a little early. (I am at about 28,000 miles) I was told yes. I got up early to get it there- brought my own ride to work and yet again.... was told I wasn't covered when your service tech told me I needed 299.00 worth of gear box oil. I also did not even get my oil changed - because when the department found out I pay up front every single month for Toyota Extra Care they couldn't do it until the whole 10,000 miles or more went by. All that hassle and all that money and you rotated my tires? Wow -- Could you be any more lazy on the customer service? I asked the tech to have a manager call me - but I finally had my boyfriend contact both magic Toyota and you because I thought maybe a guy could do better. Uh...no. Too bad you can't look up a car in the computer before a person is totally angry. So I wonder...does my car really need the gear box oil change or do you just try to make a buck up selling services? Beware of any Toyota service plans any Toyota dealer sells you. Read everything and when you go to bud Clary Toyota take your service plan in writing and advocate for yourself.... because the service department won't.
