About

Comming Soon to our Campground: Dog Park

Story

Although it's located within the city limits of historical Burkburnett, you'll feel as if you're out in the country at this KOA less than a mile from the Red River. The RV sites are big rig friendly and most are shaded. You can pitch a tent (some sites have water and / or electricity) or stay in a Cabin. The campground features a saltwater swimming pool with a children's waterslide, a new playground and a recreation hall. Families will enjoy the many planned activities! The weekend before Labor Day is the annual Hotter ‘N Hell Hundred, when the 100-mile cyclists ride past the campground! Try your luck at nearby casinos (2 miles) in Oklahoma. In Wichita Falls, you can arrange a tour of Sheppard Air Force Base or take the family on a cooling adventure at Castaway Cove Waterpark, with its zooming waterslides, lazy river and more. Plan a day trip to the Dallas-Fort Worth area or Oklahoma City (2+ hours) for museums, dining and shopping galore.

I don't think I've ever left this low of a review for a KOA, but this place is just creepy. It's very basic-- not even a fire pit! Really just an overnight stopover. There is a salt water pool and it's clean but very run-down. It does have a neat water slide, hence the two stars. But from the time we pulled in and the guy in the golf cart led us on a circuitous route to our site, I had a bad vibe. When I exited the camper after arriving at this site, there was a really creepy guy in a car (who clearly knew the golf cart employee) idling behind our trailer and just staring at us. Later on, my 8-yr-old was walking around with my husband's cell phone and two middle-aged men approached him. One offered him $10 to buy the phone. What the hell?? Fortunately he's a pretty savvy and suspicious young lad, and so he declined and quickly scurried back to the trailer. SO CREEPY!! Can not at all recommend this place!!

We had our 65 q. Yeti stolen from this KOA. When I went to let the owner know and ask if they had any cameras he shrugged his shoulders at me and showed zero concern, he was so flippant about the theft! As a manager myself, I could never show such lack of care to my customers, I wouldn't have business!

Nice for a stop...great clean bathrooms. Get up early enough and catch this sunrise. Only issue was wifi, came in and out...but hey, can't ever defend in that anyway. Oh, super nice and helpful staff!

Kind staff, swimming pool was fun with a waterslide. Older facility. Pull throughs with full hook-ups were easy to access.
