Best deli sandwich I've ever had!!! Had the Yummy pastrami and corned beef sandwich¹, wife had the Reuben.  Made fresh in under a minute with generous portions.  Super Friendly and welcoming staff.   Worth every cent, cannot recommend enough!!!

Bought a soft salami and was told hang it up and would harden up and not go bad . No need to put in refrigerator.I beg to differ. I called and got I am sorry. Cost me $29 for this ;-

Burt's deli is an authentic Chicago Jewish deli serving fresh sliced deli meats and homemade cold case deli sides. Now in its second generation of ownership, Burt's son Ralph keeps the traditions of fun wisecracking counter service with great quality ingredients going.  It's not cheap but its not Subway either, but like with all great Jewish delis, the premium price is offset by quality and quantity and is quite in line with any deli.  Try Ralphs signature sandwich the "Yummy", a corned beef and pastrami combination with melted cheese and a schmeer of horseradish on fresh rye bread. It's one of my top 10 sandwiches in Chicago. Burt's deli is a small and cozy place, and will take you back to the day's when neighborhood delis like this were all over the city.  Updated reviews 2019: still great, been a customer for over 15 years now. Never a dull moment! 2021 still AMAZING!! 2022 yup! same Ralph, same great food!

The Yummy is amazing!!!! Tasty, fresh pastramy and corned beef mix  that melts in your mouth. Very nice, and welcoming people. Will go back soon!

Sandwiches here are next level.  I don’t remember the last time I enjoyed the last bite the same way I enjoyed the first. Your pastrami sandwich is perfection. Thank you.

"Please sir, may I have some more?" Man this place is cool. First of all, the food is AWESOME. Super top quality meats make for delicious sandwiches. Second, the staff is hilarious. Especially Ralph. Although I have a sneaking suspicion he thinks he might be just a tad funnier than he is! But man o' man can Ralph make a sandwich. And third, what a great throw back to the old days. Little Jewish deli in a cool dive location with all the fixings and desserts. I mean you simply can not go wrong, I can't wait to go back again and again.

Best sandwiches I've ever had. I'm from HP and I'm no stranger to the deli scene. Burt's Deli features the Yummy and also boasts a mean brisket sandwich pictured, upon serving it to me Ralph said it would be the "best brisket of my life". He was right!!

I had the Pastrami on rye with extra Koops mustard! The pastrami was juicy, not too fat, and very tasty. The owner made me laugh with his love of life personality.  Two yellow mustard thumbs up for Burt’s Deli!

The yummies is excellent! I heard good things going into my first visit and I was not disappointed.

Burt's deli is an experience, the owner is kindhearted and you can tell he cares about his customers and community. The sandwiches are phenomenal, I had a beef brisket that blew me away. Can't wait to come back. A must for any sandwich lover.
