Beautiful and charming atmosphere inside and out. Service was prompt and friendly even though we didn't have reservations. Although, I would recommend calling ahead as it tends to be a popular place. Food exceeded our expectations! Appetizers then stuffed trout and chicken fried steak, and finally dessert was beyond delicious. I would definitely go back and have already recommended to others.

My wife and I stayed overnight in Fredericksburg as an early Christmas present for her. She had been to this restaurant years ago when it was named the Cotton Mill. They changed the name, but the ownership I believe remains the same. The service for us was top notch. Everyone we came in contact with was right on the ball and concerned about making our dining experience a good one. The chef should get raise. WOW. The food was amazing. I have eaten red snapper all over the world and the snapper here, topped with crab chunks and a sauce with shredded veggies and a unique sweet potato mash was perfectly cooked, pleasing to the eye, tasted terrific and the portion was perfect to fill me up. (and that is saying something!). We had a signature frozen peach-arita that was pretty good (not fantastically good, but pretty good). My wife had the rainbow trout and it also was really good. Although we both agreed my snapper was better. They have steaks, game birds, shrimp, pork etc., but all I can vouch for is these 2 fish dishes and they were perfect. We will be going back.

This place is a happy medium. I think we were a little overdressed, but treated no differently. I had the plate with steak, quail and pork tenderloin. It was cooked exactly how I wanted and tender. I didn't think the steak had a lot of flavor. The house side I did not care for and neither did my husband, but the mashed sweet potatoes were awesome. My husband had the chicken fried ribeye and it was amazing! We had a fried pecan pie and I think it was the best of everything. It is a little pricey, but good quality. I'm not sure that it was worth $150 for two people, 2 alcohol drinks and dinner, but it was nice to relax and enjoy.

Family attempted to gather from all corners of Texas only to be turned away because of their ridiculous 6 person table rule... WHAT BUSINESS TURNS AWAY BUSINESS LIKE THAT?!?!? What was worse was their attitude in defending a stupid policy. What a horrible consumer experience... take your business ANYWHERE ELSE BUT HERE.

The fact that a party of six or more aren't allowed in there or that you can only have 6 at a table is ridiculous the service is so so . The waiter took his time and the food came out lukewarm. There are way better eateries in town like August E's, Crossroads and Vaudeville
