The Caddo County Health Department has served the people of Caddo County since 1936 providing Maternal/Child wellness, WIC and Public Health Serivices.

Mission

The mission of the Caddo County Health Department is to protect and promote health, to prevent disease and injury, and to cultivate conditions by which the Citizens of Caddo County can be healthy. We accomplish our mission by monitoring the health of our community, identifying and responding to health threats, providing timely and accurate information to our citizens, enforcing laws that protect health and providing quality services to prevent and control disease.

Impressum

The Caddo County Health Department works to imporve the health and safety of the people of Caddo County. We offer services that range from Maternal/Child screening and wellness to Emergency Prepardness. We offer Clinic services for STD testing and treatment along with wellness testing and immunization services for all ages. Public education with the intent to influence for the better the lives and whole body health status of the people of Caddo County.

Products

ACUTE DISEASE SERVICES

The purpose is to control communicable disease through:
Surveillance for infectious diseases
Investigation of disease outbreaks
Analysis of data to plan, implement, and evaluate disease prevention and control measures
Desimination of pertinent information
Education of healthcare professionals and the public
Bioterrorism preparedness

CHILDREN FIRST

Provides home visits to first-time parents to encourage thier ability to care for themselves. It encourages early and continouse prenatal care, healthy infant and child developement, and the involvement of fathers and other supportive people.

CONSUMER HEALTH

The Consumer Health Division is responsible for liscensing, monitoring and inspecting hotels and motels, eating and drinking establishments, retail food outlets, barbershops, and public bathing places. Staff also investigate standing water complaints, rabies exposure, and other health nuisance.

EMERGENCY PREPARDNESS

The public health and medical systems are critical infrastructure and vital support functions in the event of an emergency. The Caddo County Health Department works diligently to address the public health implications of a large-scale disaster affecting the codunty's population. These efforts are done in partnership with local, state and federal partners.

FAMILY PLANNING

Staff provide comprehensive reproductive health services for males and females. For females, services include physical exams including Pap smears and breast exams, screening for sexually transmitted infections, information of the different contraceptive methods available, pregnancy diagnosis and counseling and referrals. For males, services include physical exams, screening for sexually trasnsmitted infections, education and counseling on prevention of pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections, access to condoms, and testicular exams when needed.

HIV/STD

The program concentrates on screening, diagnosing, educating, treating, indivual case management, and referral services for those at increasing risk for sexually transmitted diseases.

IMMUNIZATIONS

Staff provide services to infants, children and adults that reduce the incidence of vaccine preventable diseases in Oklahoma.

SOONERSTART

Soonerstart is Oklahoma's Early Intervention program for Femilies of infants and toddelers, birth to 36 months, who have developmental delays. If your child is eligible for services, Soonerstart providesservices where your child typically spends time: for example, home or childcare.

WIC

Staf provide nutrition education and specific supplemental foods for good health and nutrition during critical times of growth and development. It is intended for pregnant & breastfeeding women, infants, and children up to age five.
