Mother and I were drawn to Cafe Calacas originally in search of a chorizo breakfast burrito... the intention transmuted into a search for a delicious and thoughtful Mexican breakfast. She is a fan of coffee and I'm well past that prime; when we discovered photos of C.C. fare, we were each curious about the coffee drinks (abuela's chocolate in a latte?!) and newly born traditional menu items as they read a bit nostalgic for us. 
The place is of limited size, the service is accommodating, helpful and surprisingly kind and the food (we opted for breakfast tortas) IS nostalgic and delicious. Bingo! The abuela's latte is warm and cinnamon-y - 
This place is definitely worth checking out.

I love the cozy cafe atmosphere.  The employees always are super nice and helpful.  Would have given it 5 stars if they had offered fruit as a side.
