If you haven’t been to Cajou Creamery and Café, you’re missing out! Located in Market Center in the Mt. Vernon community, I was pleased that there was so much street parking. The atmosphere is warm and artsy, the gourmet ice cream flavors are a party for the tastebuds, and the proprietor, Dwight, is a delight t engage with. I didn’t even set out to have amazing dessert today, but I’m so glad I found this place! I will definitely be back!!
We were very excited to try this vegan icecream and it was worth the hype in the reviews. The gentleman who owns the shop was generous with his time, giving us tastes, and explaining flavors to us. He was very nice! The icecream is very, very creamy and just the right amount of melty. The flavors are quite sophisticated! Extremely fresh. We got the blueberry cheesecake and horchata icecream sandwich on absolutely delicious oatmeal raisin cookies. We loved them both. Go support!!
If I could rate this shop as a 10, I would! I went on a Saturday late afternoon, to this small very cute shop. The owner helped us and knows he makes a GREAT PRODUCT!!!! Every flavor we sampled was light and full of flavor. We ended up ordering for a family of 4 and each flavor was DIVINE! The pistachio ice cream is perfectly flavored and has just the right amount of sweetness. The apple pie had actual apples and played a close second to the flavor of the pistachio. Cones taste similar to sugar cones. Overall experience was AMAZING! If you are looking to try dairy-free ice cream with no chalkiness, great taste, and strange aftertaste this is the most enjoyable experience you can have in Baltimore. Vegetarian options: This is a plant based creamery. Dietary restrictions: No gluten No soy No lactose
cajou might just be the best plant based creamery in Baltimore! This place is so great with so many unique and flavorful options horchata blueberry cheesecake Pastelito and black Irish are just a few! Dwight is such a delight with such a an interesting back story be be sure to ask all about it! So if you're in Baltimore and need a sweet treat on the weekend I definitely recommend cajou!
I was looking for a non dairy alternative due to my gi complications and my friend took me here. The owner explained the ice cream flavors and ingredients. I was very happy with my choice of ice cream Baklava. He also does soup on Sundays. The decor and environment made me feel comfortable and inviting. Felt like I was in Jamaica. I loved the old time rhythms. I will be coming back with my family next Sunday .
Cajou is absolutely AMAZING! First, before getting to the incredible ice creams, be warned that coming into this space will feel like coming home, so you may not want to leave! The atmosphere is very warm and inviting. The owners treat you like they've known you all of their lives. Every time I come in, there's always good conversation, and the best greeting ever... "WELCOME FAMILY!" Now on to the ice cream! Like it says, it's plant-based ice cream, and it is the best ice cream I've ever had in all my years. The flavor combinations sometimes have me feeling like I'm walking on clouds, and other times, the flavors take me back to sunny days sitting on the beaches of Jamaica! Get the ice cream flight!!! Then the soups!!! I've had the Jamaican Red Bean soup and the Dahl soup. Both are 5 star dishes that could be served in the finest restaurants! DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND GET TO CAJOU NOW!!! Dietary restrictions: PLANT-BASED!!!!
Amazing amazing amazing. I am not vegan but I would choose Cajou’s ice cream over any other any day. I got the baklava and it’s the best ice cream I’ve ever tasted. The family who works here is super nice as well, very friendly and welcoming. If I lived in Baltimore I would come here alllll the timeFood: 5/5
Dwight was so friendly and personable. We had great conversation, but the ice cream was out of this world. I also got a soup weekends only, and it was delicious. I will absolutely be returning for more.Food: 5/5
Cajou is an adorable lil spot, well decorated and simple. Located in what seems to be an upcoming neighborhood/retail spot. The ice cream flavors were delicious and very creamy. I will say the Guava and Cheese was leaning towards the sweeter side as was the Blueberry Cheesecake. The Baklava "pistachio" flavor was really nutty which I enjoyed. I think they should offer some other flavors that are perhaps less sweet. I know they had a Tamarind flavor, but it didn't seem to mesh well with the others in my opinion. Perhaps offering fruitier flavors that are more tart. I'm sure the flavors rotate. I appreciate the use of metal spoons for samples instead of those plastic or wooden ones. The owner was very welcoming and patient with us. I appreciate him telling me that the Jamaican rum raisin actually contained rum. I of course recommend this plant based ice cream spot it is necessary to visit this summer!
Stopped in while wile waiting for another appointment and had the most amazing nondairy ice creams in my life. It was smooth, creamy, and full of flavor. I fell in love with the Horchata. I immediately called my lactose intolerant buddy and told her she had to try this! I can’t wait to take my pints home and have more. Dietary restrictions: It’s made with cashew milk. Great for us non dairy folks.
