I have no complaints about about staff friendliness or knowledge. Went for a simple car title transfer. I waited for 3h 10m, measured per stopwatch. This is unacceptable. I don't know the inner workings, but while there are about 4-8 counters open for non-driver's-test-related things, it seems that staff comes and goes (potty breaks? shift changes?) so that bottom line maybe 4 clerks are serving people at a given moment. This produces a throughput of about 20-30 customers per hour. At least 100 are waiting. The published waiting time on their website is only correct insofar as this is the average time between customer-number assigned and number served. Add to that about 45-60min just to get a number. Appointments -> ok, but this doesn't help for urgent matters. Then, if everybody makes appointments, same problem.

I came here last Thursday. I'm sure employees are going as fast they can, but this new number system is horrible. No way to know if my number had been called, or if it's going to be a while and maybe I should leave and come back another day. PLEASE Get rid of this system. Or make it better by, say, texting wait time updates (since you're now using our phone numbers and initials as our place in line number).

Been in line for four hours. Still waiting. I suppose it could be worse, hence the two stars. There could be insufficient seating. There could be obnoxious TV blasting at us. There could be some horrible smell. There could be a hole in the ground that leads straight to hell. The staff could be orcs. rabid dogs could be roaming the area. Still waiting....

uncle phil didn't spill any coffee so i passed my road-test! now im on my way to Archie's listening to Francis Albert in my grandfathers Caddie with Dean riding shotgun and Mercedes is still in the trunk.

It's the DMV...not the Waldorf Astoria. The level of service should be judged accordingly. No one is happy to be there least of all the public. But, I feel these guys do a real good job of trying to be pleasant & friendly and keep the line moving and wait times down.
