I realize I'm coming at this from a different angle, but I'm really disappointed with Camello Inc. 

For the past several months, I've had to live next door to one of their construction sites -- which is jammed in the middle of a high-density residential area. The city of Oakland permits construction crews to begin work at 7 a.m., which is exactly when Camello's crew starts hammering, backing up noisy trucks, sawing, etc. I work a typical 9-to-6 job and don't set my alarm for 7:45. Thanks to Camello, I haven't needed an alarm clock in months.

The crew is usually finished by early afternoon, which makes me wonder why they couldn't push their construction up one hour for the betterment of the area residents. I'm not alone in my complaints either; I've heard from several neighbors how upset they are with the loud, early noises. But Camello does not care. I've pleaded with them to no avail. 

As far as their work is concerned, I'm awfully surprised how long it's taking them to construct this building. Residential units are being constructed all over Oakland, and they're going up a lot faster than Camello's site next to me. I worry I'll be living next to them for the next year. 

Lastly -- and I'm no safety expert here -- their crews sometimes work without hard hats or proper fall protection gear. I sense an OSHA penalty coming their way some day.
