We are situated on 45 acres of beautiful, rolling country farmland located north of Toronto and just south of Barrie. Open all year round, Camp Cookstown features a brand new, fully heated/air-conditioned barn.

While at camp, our guests will have an all-access pass where they can run in the sun, nap in the shade, play with friends or splash in one of our puppy pools.

They’re free to do as they please while being supervised by our Camp Counselors. At night or on a cold, rainy day our dog guests can cuddle up with their friends in our warm and cozy country barn!

Whether your dog vacations with us for a day, a night, a weekend, or months at a time, at Camp Cookstown we treat all our guests as our own - with tender, loving care and affection, and zealous regard for their comfort and well-being!

Camp Cookstown has been an amazing experience for my dog Ella and I. The staff are all just so wonderful and they love your job. Ella gets super excited when she is going to camp, the whole time I am driving her to Camp Cookstown, she is eagerly waiting to get there. I have Never seen an unhappy dog not wanting to go to camp for the day!!!!! Ella has lots of doggie friends at camp and she truly needs this time with her kind to just be a dog. She comes home happier and exhausted from all the fun she has had at camp. Camp Cookstown and their Staff are a blessing for Ella and I. They also have transportation too which they will pickup and drop off when I am not able to take Ella to camp myself (AWESOME)! Thank you to Camp Cookstown and Staff.

Two of my three dogs (the two big ones) have in the past had a wonderful time at Camp Cookstown BUT the last time my dogs stayed there, they came home with hook worm and giardia (aka explosive diarrhea). It isn't the first time they have come home and gotten sick shortly after, but it was the first time it was a very serious illness - both were rushed to an emergency vet when I woke up to blood and diarrhea all over the house. I thought for sure one of them was going to die, but after an expensive vet trip and a ton of medicine (which they will go on for round two tomorrow), they got better after about a week (a week of cleaning up explosive diarrhea). After getting over the horror of waking to a bloody mess, I emailed the camp to tell them how sick the dogs were and explained that there is no doubt the illness was from the camp as it is the only time my little dog (who didn't get even slightly sick) isn't with the big dogs. I gave them the cleaning recommendations the vet had given and asked what preventative measures can be taken at the camp to ensure that it won't happen again. Please note, I wasn't angry with them, and I'm still not, but because I received no response to two emails asking for information about how they will prevent this from happening again, I feel its my duty to let others know about this experience as I'm uncertain any measures are being taken to prevent this from happening again, and it was awful for my dogs and my family.

The girls at Camp Cookstowm are second Moms to our Berner Wally. They pick him up, bring him home at night, groom him, love him and take great care of him when we travel. Thank you!!

Thank you so much for your wonderful care of our Chloe! She is very tired, but so are we from our trip, so it is lovely to all be home together and relaxing from our fun holidays! It was so exciting to watch her run up to us from "the barn" when we came to pick her up, obviously happy and healthy. We were told she'd be tired for a day or two once she came home, from all the running and playing she had enjoyed for her 5 day stay, and you are correct! She has found her sunny spot on the floor and has literally passed out! Our initial tour convinced us that yours is a well run establishment. Your team introduced us by name (and nature) individually to all your guests already at camp - what fun! How impressive that your team could speak easily about each camper, and how they observed initial interactions between ALL the dogs to ensure a great start. When we dropped Chloe off a couple of days later, we were so surprised that she didn't even look back as we left!!! She was much more intent on getting to her new friends. I have to also add that your rates are VERY reasonable when you consider the quality of care, the EXTREMELY CLEAN and comfortable accommodations, and particularly your program using animal group theory - not one single chain link run or cage/kennel used was something I was very impressed by. All that room to run, to play and to rest was amazing. Thank you to your entire team of PROFESSIONALS. We were so impressed during the first tour right through to the moment we picked Chloe up, and truly appreciated all the communication in between (you responded to our emails so quickly, wonderful peace of mind for us), we could not have asked for a better experience. Now that we have found your awesome doggy destination, we will be sure to pass along your info to friends and family - folks are ALWAYS looking for quality care for their beloved pets, and clearly Camp Cookstown is the place for furry family members. Thanks again, Bob and Darlene Mulligan

Our 10 month old husky shepherd Winston had his first stay with Camp Cookstown at the end of May during our wedding and absolutely loved it! We think he had just as much fun as we did! From the immaculate barn and play area to the knowledgeable and friendly staff, Camp Cookstown is an amazing place to bring your dog. This was the first time we had left Winston somewhere to be watched while we were away so needless to say we were a little nervous about how he would be and if he would like it. We brought Winston for a meet and greet with the other dogs a couple of weeks before his stay and right away our worries were gone. The dogs were all treated so wonderfully by the friendly staff who are all so obviously dog lovers themselves. There was plenty of room for the dogs to play and a beautiful barn for sleeping and whenever the dogs needed some rest or shade. When we picked up Winston after the wedding, we got a nice synopsis of his stay from the staff and heard all about how much fun he had. Winston was also lucky enough to have a photoshoot done while he was there and the pictures confirmed what the staff had told us - he was happy and had a blast. We will definitely be coming back to Camp Cookstown the next time we are away and would recommend it to anyone.
