The prices at Canal's are the best that I've ever seen particularly on the high end products.  If you check your mailbox and save the coupons you can do even better! Great store.

I was humiliated by one of the employees at this liquor store due to their rule of only 21 and older only allowed in the store. I’ve been in there several times underaged and have never gotten in trouble so I didn’t think anything of it. But because I was buying liquor with my 19 year old sister, this young brunette girl refused to sell me the liquor because she was underaged even though I was 21 and said I’d need to have my dad buy the liquor. I think it was completely rude how she dramatically brought attention to my sister and I. I’d even go as far to say it was because we were black. But I hate their staff, they’ve always been rude with poor customer service. My farther was also angry with the situation. Canal’s sucks.

Clearly - without a question - Canals is the overwhelming best store for selection and price.  It isn't even close and anyone saying anything different should give a name of one that is.  For example - if a "normal" good store has say 5-10 types of a wine (a few in each price range) - here there are LITERALLY 150 or so.  Then look at liquor - for example I recently needed a "good" bottle of scotch (preferably Johnnie Walker) - they had 5 different - in prices up to $200+.  Most other stores have the standard and maybe one special, with the special being a grade lower than here for the grade higher price.  Generally, Canal (any place I've had them)  price points are 20% better across the board.  Yes, the crew running the place is basic retail help friendly but always busy with stocking or ringing and not claiming to be experts on the HUGE selection they sell..
