Wow...I had gone online and also checked with Home Advisor before I called Bruce at Canyon Lake Plumbing to find out a "range" for replacing a flange in a Kohler toilet.  It seemed that 250-350 was the going rate.  I was charged $425 for that and another $150.00 for just sticking a long "roto-rooter" type device down a toilet in the guest bathroom that was flushing very slowly.  That took about 10 minutes and fixing the flange was an hour job. I guess the moral is "shame on me" for not checking before he started the job as to the price but I thought that being local I would be charged the "going" rate.  Hopefully, this repair will last a good while as I would hate to have to call him back in a week or two if I was having a problem with something he worked on.  I feel quite sure that he would never think anything about a "warranty on his work" and charge me who know what to repair again. So far the work he did was just fine but the price was way, way to steep for my budget!

I'm not sure if it was an off day or not but in my experience with businesses, you usually don't avt annoyed when being asked for a job. One phone call and not only did he not answer my question (do you provide estimates) but he put me off from ever having Canyon Lake Plumbing ever work on one of my job sites.

We have used Bruce twice, once in an emergency and once more in a "normal" situation.  As remote owners (Dallas), we needed someone we could trust without being at our lake house.  Bruce came out in freezing weather, completed the repairs and charged a very reasonable rate.
First class, trustworthy and reliable!

I had a leak under the kitchen sink that required me to turn off the water to the house.  I contacted Bruce who was on another job with two more before me.  Within 2 hours he arrived and fixed my leak by replacing two shutoff values.  He was very professional and his fee was very reasonable.

Bruce was great.  We had 3 plumbers out before Bruce and none could figure out our plumbing issue.  Not only was Bruce able to resolve our problem, he also helped us find our lost septic tank.
