I’ve always heard about this place and seen pictures but never been. After riding around trying to find a spot for brunch, we landed here. 10/10 would recommend!  I got the got the country breakfast waffle and it was delicious. The waffle itself was good too and  fluffy. Everything on the waffle tasted great and cooked perfectly. The sweet tea was top tier!  Seating is limited but we got there at the perfect time and our food came out fast. You do use a QR code or go to the front to order.

This is a great small business! If you’re in Richmond and need a good breakfast spot you’re in for a treat. They have so many different dessert style waffles to choose from, thankfully it was a group of us so we all ordered different things from the ice cream waffles to the egg bowls. Everything was so tasty! The coffee was great too. I only wish they had one in NOVA. Please bring your waffles to us!

Came here for the first time last weekend and really enjoyed it. I was taken aback by how many options there were. I had the RVA waffle and it was great. Nice amount of spice, that paired quite well with the sweetness of the waffle. For those that drink, I recommend getting a mimosa with your waffle. Staff was friendly. Seating both inside and out is an added bonus.

We had an unexpected pitstop driving home for Thanksgiving in Richmond and we googled breakfast food and to our luck this place was a block from the hotel and the reviews were great. We are so happy that everything aligned and we found this place. I got the Spicy Chicken Waffle and my wife got the Grandma Waffle and they were delicious. I got the mimosa and my wife got the S'milkshake. We recommend the Capitol Waffle Shop and are so happy we chose to come here and will be back in the future when in Richmond. Only downside is there is limited seating but we got here 9am on a Sunday and there were two tables available. If you have a large party it may be hard to find seating, but the wait will be worth it.

We went for brunch and I made a waffle with blueberry,  strawberry, whipped cream and ice cream. I also ordered chicken tenders and they were so good! Food came fast! What a cute little place with a great tasting waffle! The atmosphere is relaxed people just flowing in and out. I will say the music was a little louder than I would have liked but the flavor of the waffle and chicken was so good I could ignore the music!! The coffee wasnt bad either!! The staff was friendly and ready to take an order. I can't wait to visit again and try some of the other delicious treats on the menu! Great job Capital Waffle Shop!! A must try!! Luckily got in as I arrived 10 minutes before they opened. The shop was filled moments after. The waffles are really good. There are so many toppings to choose from, maybe too many. I was pleasantly surprised at the fried chicken waffle. I never saw this combination but they nailed it.

Their motto is, “waffles are just pancakes with abs.”  I love that!  The restaurant was a great find - the service was efficient and friendly, the prices were reasonable and the food was delicious.  We had the standard chicken and waffles with scrambled eggs and coffee.  But, you can go wild. Capitol Waffle has a lot of creative topping choices for example, Captain Crunch, berries, chocolate syrup and whipped cream so there is something for everyone.  Capitol Waffle is centrally located near the Capitol and nearby hotels.

Absolutely delicious and we would love to come back. We tried a bit of savory with the morning veg to go and then a combo in the grandma's waffle which was scrambled eggs with chicken which was just the best and incredibly fresh strawberries and blueberries. The waffles themselves were perfectly crisp on the outside and fluffy inside. Filling but not heavy at all. It was a little cramped but worth it. Didn't have a chance to try the mimosas but definitely will on our next walk through!

Visiting Richmond and were walking to the Poe museum, stopped here for weekday brunch/lunch.  Order at the counter regardless of whether you are eating on-site or taking away.  Waffles are full size and hearty. I had full size waffle with eggs, bacon and creamy queso. Totally amazing pictured. My wife got a half size and was glad she went smaller.  House coffee was great. On this day an Ethiopian coffee.  Staff are friendly and helpful. Great little joint near the capital government complex.  We'll be sure to return when we come back to Richmond.
