Carmel Crisp is a great place to eat, do work, read a book, or shop for gifts for kids all the way up! There is plenty of outdoor seating as well. It’s very obvious that the owner, Chanda, cares deeply about the Oshkosh community as do her staff. One staff was a required school teacher with great insight into some of the sensory tools they had available for sale. I have liked all the food I have gotten here and the deserts are delicious too! Support local!
Right when you walk in you're hit with this amazing smell that's hard to describe because it depends what's baking. Quaint shop where you can buy gifts for all sorts of people. Must see place in Oshkosh! Ice cream is rich in flavor, many different types of popcorn, cookies are ever evolving yet delicious and wine choice is large. I bought a few gifts for my friends because I couldn't stop myself. I bought aplenty gifts for me too. It can be a children's playground with all the toys for sale. Upper management was very close with workers and working along side them. Pretty door and beautiful designs all around the shop. Wheelchair accessible unisex restrooms with changing rooms. Very inclusive place seeing all the different faces that came into the store. Was there for 3 hours and still didn't see everything!
My daughter and I love this place. We don't call it by name but only refer to it as our favorite ice cream shop. She loves to get a treat. I love their salads, the curry chicken one is amazing. They have such a selection of stuff you can purchase, sometimes there is a Red Chocolate Wine in stock that I am in love with. We've purchased jewelry there. My favorite pair of gloves is from Caramel Crisp. I love in summer being able to sit outside with the dog while my daughter enjoys an ice cream I can have a glass of wine. It's a great atmosphere.
Greeted at the door with the beautiful smell of caramel popcorn. Had the bacon, egg, and cheese everything bagel. Couldn't resist the peanut butter pretzel cookie. Both were very tasty. Service was friendly and fast. Enjoyed perusing the market while my sandwich was being made. Cute place!
Perfect downtown cafe for breakfast . I loved my Scotcharoo and Strawberry smoothie
This was my second visit here and was a bit disappointed in the food compared to my first visit. My boyfriend and I didn't care for the Wisconsin Cheese soup, as it was not very flavorful. The shredded beef sandwich was also pretty disappointing. The beef had very little flavor and there wasn't a lot of beef on the sandwich maybe 3.5 tablespoons worth of meat. The sandwich was $9 and I feel like for the amount of beef we got, it shouldn't have cost that much. On the plus side, I enjoyed my bacon grilled cheese and my boyfriend enjoyed his potato salad. We've had the cookies here before and they're amazing! I love the atmosphere as well. I'm hoping to return again but may just stick to the cookies and other baked goods.
We walked in and were greeted immediately by a friendly woman who offered any help we may need. I received help from another woman in the library section and she was over the top helpful! The end to my shopping trip was at the cookie counter. I stood there for quite sometime while three different workers all women chatted with another woman and completely ignored me standing there until I asked for service. Katie, who rang up my entire order, never once smiled, and was obviously in a bad mood or so it seemed? I was given my bag and that’s how the interaction ended. No thank you, I’ll say that again, no thank you. No have a good day, no nothing. Now, I am a upbeat, understanding person. Maybe Katie and the others whose names I don’t know were having a deep conversation about something of importance? I don’t know but not in front of customers. And it’s a simple thing to say thank you and a smile costs you nothing. Our entire experience was not lost, as the first two employees were amazing, and that’s who we will remember!
If you want a cozy place to talk with a friend over tea or coffee, while enjoying great homemade cookies or pies, quiches, sandwiches etc, this is it. If you want to find a unique, good quality gift, they have lots to choose from! I've been going here for over 8 years. Highly recommend as a place to go to.Food: 4/5
Really disappointed this time! My significant other and I ordered 30 dollars worth of food during lunch time. At the end of the order, we wanted to tip our waitress at the register and were suprised to find that this wasn't an option. When we double checked, they told us no again and walked away from the register. As we were walking back to the seating area, we loudly heard them talking about our interaction..."why would he even ask that", "I can't believe that", etc. Just a customer service 101: if you are going to talk rudely about your customers simply for trying to be nice during the holiday season, make sure that you're not loud enough that the entire front half of your store can hear you.
Caramel Crisp is a complete experience. A beautiful eating, book, toy and gift shopping experience. Locally owned and featuring many local products, it is a must visit for Oshkosh. And the best cookies and ice cream anywhere...Food: 5/5
