Well behaved dogs with equally pleasant owners. Your dog needs to be under control here but if they play nice the social scene is tops. And they get plenty of exercise despite the size. A very good dog park.
I haven’t been to many dog parks in my life but this one seems to meet all of our requirements. The city of Denver regularly has it’s workers come by to pick up the litter and empty the trash cans so they’re never overflowing. It’s never too packed but there’s always at least a few dogs running around. It’s a great place for my GSD to socialize whilst not being overwhelmed with an over abundance of dogs like other parks. I mainly like the Carla Madison Dog Park because it’s close to our house and it doesn’t have any size restrictions. I can’t believe that some dog parks have adopted policies that discriminate against certain size dogs. That just seems ridiculous to me, like how are all of the rat b@st@rd little dogs supposed to socialize if they aren’t introduced to a diverse group of their peers? Thankfully no such prejudice exists here at the Carla Madison Dog Park.
Agreed. Park is small and there are to many aggressive dogs and not enough attentive owners. I have a 4 months puppy and he was surrounded by a few big dogs and one of them even put him in the floor with the paw in his neck and the owner did not seem to care. So I immediately pick him up and left.
Off the corner on 16th Ave and Josephine, you'll find a triangular clean space for your pup or pups to bring. The area is fenced and regulated by the Denver's city park rules see picture. Dogs were well behaved and their humans too
More a reflection on other ow ers than the park itself. This dog park seems to have more owners that are not as thoughtful or respectful of other dogs and their people. A lot of inattentive owners on the phone, etc. Which has led to several unfortunate events between dogs.
Gets the job done, but it isn't the biggest park in town. Wyatt is a part of the early morning crew. The mornings usually start off pretty slow, with only a couple of dogs at a time, until around 730. Then from 730-9 it's usually about 10 or so dogs. Everyone is pretty friendly, and has good control when things get a little heated in the puppy circles.
Great dog park, but small. It usually has a good mix of smaller pups, so it's good for starting to socialize
Small and there are to many aggressive dogs and not enough attentive owners. It’s amazing how different people can be from one dog park to the next. I went on one hot day and was the only one who had brought water. There were already 8 dogs there. I don’t know how some of these pups don’t drop in the heat when the water fountain hasn’t been turned on yet and their owners just figure “someone else” will have water. Those thirsty pups lapped through the bottle I brought in no time. We didn’t stay long.
Not a very good facility but the people are friendly and attentive, which probably matters more. Very dusty, and muddy after it rains or snows. Regulars tend to be pretty big so small dogs might be outmatched. Water fountain doesn’t work; there’s a few dog bowls and sometimes a gallon jug laying around but best to bring your own.
Really like this dog park. It's fairly close to us, our dog always has a blast! It's a little smaller than some, it doesn't have a training area, and there's supposed to be water but they shut it off kinda early which is a bummer. Other than that the dogs that come are great!
